I have just joined this company and read the reviesws. Kathy was very professional and nice to me and helped me allot. BTW, I used to be ""some"" receptionist and think it is very rude to talk about people that way. The whole office treated me fine. more

Bad experience. The driver spilled oil to the point where my neighbros were angry. I handed him cash that he stuffed in his pocket and didnot even count!!!! Professional? I calld the office about the bad spill and the lady ws very nice and helpful. She stood by her company when I told her about the money. I can call any co for this to happen pretty sloppy job. more

PVP Petroleum repaired my oil burner last winter and seemed to do a good job. They advised me to replace the ""chamber"" and gave me an estimate. I got on the phone recently with ""Kathy"" two times. She has an attiitude, simple as that, and they should get someone who knows how to deal with the public, because now I'll get the work done elsewhere and I wanted to have them do the work. I don't have time to argue with a receptionist.\r more

I have been using PVP for 3 years and have had a great working relationship with them. All of the office workers and men are pleasant and helpful. Kathy has helped me and has always gotten back to me when she promises. Laura is wonderful. I guess I am a good customer and not everyone is like me. But I would recommend them anytime more

Anyone in the Hudson Valley area...Do NOT use Putnam Valley Petroleum! Horrible customer service! Dealing with Kathy in the office is a terrible experience. She won't stop talking & listen to you. Things don't get done & you just keep going around in circles. We are supposed to close on our house in NY on Thursday & I have been trying to get them to top off the tank & send our lawyer a fax letting them know its full so we can reimbursed for a full tank at closing. She said they couldn't do it. She said we would have to have them stick the tank, charge us $125 to come out to do it & my agent would have to go to the house to let them in. I scheduled them on Friday to go there today (Monday) to do this. Talked to her this morning & she didn't schedule it. They would have to go there tomorrow. My husband took over calling because I am getting nowhere & am frustrated. He called the office & was told that the manager would call him at 10. No phone call. He called back at 10:30 & manager would not get on phone. Kathy got on phone & went around in circles with him & would not even let him speak. She told my husband different things than she told me. She was going to charge me $125 to have them go out there to stick the tank, but told my husband it would be free. It should not be this difficult. Our lawyer, our agent & both of us are amazed at how unprofessional & how difficult the office staff is there. Save yourself a huge headache & avoid dealing with them. In the end they can have someone go out there on Thursday & top it off. Our closing is Thursday morning, so we will not have this part wrapped up until after the closing. I have been trying to get this done since last Wednesday. Over a week should have plenty enough time for them to do this. Unbelievable! more

Whoever wrote that negative review either had the wrong company in mind, or was trying to pull a fast one. We're in the town of Kent and could have any number of companies, but Putnam Valley has been our supplier of choice for years now. \r Our furnace is probably older than all the workers at Putnam Valley, but they all know how to work with it, and how to keep it running well. You might even get one of the owners out to your house in the dead of night for a service call!\r Their prices are fair, the staff, and this includes the receptionists, are all friendly and knowledgeable. If you use Putnam Valley Petroleum, let people know how you feel. That's the only reason I joined this directory, because I believe in the company and want people to know! I have had many oil companys, but i must say no one has compared to Putnam Valley Petroleum. This Petroleum company exceeded my expectations, I just got my annual cleaning and my boiler has never sound so efficent. The service tech was very friendly and help explain what my annual service cleaning obtained. Now I know why its always important to recieve an annual cleaning. The best part my cleaning was free thanks to their affordable Service Contract which includes 1 free annual cleaning , and if have a problem with my bolier it covers me for the whole year . I just want to say Thank You very much Putnam Valley Petroleum for keeping Me and my family Warm. more

Besides the many issues I had with them in the 5 months & 3 deliveries I was their customer, when I tried to cancel they delivered the oil 2 weeks & 60 gallons earlier than usual knowing I was trying to cancel just to bang money out of me one last time. Meanwhile they're $0.45/more a gallon then their competitors!! When I asked them to pump out the oil or charge me the same as my new oil company they not only refused to budge but refused to even call me back! Instead they went through our third party oil company to handle. They've had terrible customer service from the beginning and charge over $100 more every time I fill! Not worth the money or aggravation. Maybe they could've avoided bad reviews by knowing how to treat their customers. Cons: Bad customer service & overpriced for the area more
