i have been to purple in seattle and kirkland. i prefer the one in seattle, which is trendier. overall, i think their industrial interior will quickly become passe and tired looking. regardless, i was not disappointed this go'round, service was a bit lacking at first. it took a while for someone to take responsibility for our table. once they did, service was seamless. we ordered the prix fixe with the wines for $40 and it was well worth the money. the wines didn't knock my socks off - and i know they could have because i have seen the list - but the food was fantastic. the goat cheese swimming in honey was a bit odd, but i finished every bit. the best part was the prawn and scallop skewers - gorgeous! four huge prawns and four huge scallops - i felt positively spoiled. there was a funky ""chick pea cake"" and some swiss chard, which was brown but tasty. my peanut dessert was mediocre, but the vanilla creme brulee was great. overall, this spot is not a waste of time or money no matter which location you choose.
Pros: food first, wine list second
Cons: industrial ambience - gonna go out of style
