Terrible experience, will not use them again. I scheduled a facial as a surprise gift for my girlfriend. I reserved an appointment by phone and gave my credit card number. The day before the appointment, I received a confirmation call to my phone number. I later found out that they CHARGED her for the appointment which was supposed to be a gift. I sent my girlfriend in there for a gift appointment and they charged her. I was furious. It made me look like a cheap loser. When a man calls a spa salon and makes an appointment for a woman, and gives his credit card number and requests that the confirmation call be made to him, it is not an incredible leap of logic to realize that the appointment is a GIFT. They didn't even bother to ask. I only found out later that they charged her and then I had to have the charge canceled from her card. They were not very friendly or helpful. more

Pure is my favorite place to get massages. I go regularly, or as regularly as I can afford. Prices are definitely better than in Manhattan and the spa just FEELS good. You walk in and are greeted warmly, given a fresh robe and slippers to change into, and brought to a relaxation room with tea, water, snacks. Downstairs are the massage rooms and they're quiet and peaceful. My friend gave me a gift certificate for a massage for my birthday, and when the massage was over, there was a glass of champagne waiting for me! Not only is this a great place for massage, but the facials are wonderful and my skin has made a dramatic turn-around after a consultation with Eva. They use Dermalogica products at Pure and now it's what I use to keep my skin looking good. I have also had several manicures and pedicures here. Although the prices for these are a bit high, and you can get them cheaper in the city, I do try to take advantage of the monthly specials for pedicures and manicures. That's another great thing about Pure: they offer great deals each month and they change, so it's like a little surprise every first of the month. I had a body wax with Eva this morning. I called just three days in advance and was able to get an appointment on the day I wanted. After arriving, I was led to my room within 5 minutes. Eva was extremely fast with the wax which made it as painless as a waxing can be. They accept credit cards but tips must be paid in cash. I will definitely return. Pros: Quick, clean Cons: none more

I recently went to Pure Spa and totally fell in love with the place. It is amazing. ..From the moment I booked the apointment I knew this place was special. The girl who answered the phone was so pleasant and informative and the minute I walked into the spa I was greeted with a warm friendly smile and the reception staff really put my nerves about my forthcoming treament at ease. The therapist who was perfoming my treatment actually came and introduced herself to me by shaking my hand and walked me down to the changing room. They made me feel like a regular even though I never been there before.I enjoyed a Queen for the Day package (a thoughtful xmas (gift from my boyfriend) where I chose to receive a facial and a hot oil scalp massage. Wow!!! The aestician was so nice and made me feel completely at ease. My skin has never felt or looked so good! She gave me lots of advice about skin care After my head massage I was guided back to the relaxation room where the nail technician came and picked me up. I indulged in a spa mani and a spa pedicure and once again it was amazing. I was even offered a blanked in the nail studio to wrap around me to make me feel snug! !. Everything in the nail studio was really clean and I loved the fact that they opened up brand new sterile file and cuticle cutter right in it! I was disappointed when all my treatments were finished! But it didn't end there with my pampering! When I was checking out at the desk, the therapist who perfomed my facial left me a few samples of moisturisers and masques what she thinks would be suit my skin type and also a chart where she listed off the products what I should be using! I I thought that was a lovely touch and there was no pressure to buy these products like some of the other spas I have been to in the past! Once again the girls at reception were courteous asking me did I enjoy my day and I left feeling great ! This place is a gem! Try it for yourselves cos I know I am not wrong! I recently got a Gift Certificate as a present from my husband for my birthday for Pure Spa & Salon in Sunnyside. Ladies this is where good girls die and go to heaven - I was told to arrive 15 minutes ahead of my scheduled appointment as I needed to fill out a consultation card about my health etc...I thought this was very professional as most places I have been to be before did not even care to ask. I was then escorted down to the changing area and was told to make my way to the relaxation room after I got into my robe and slippers. The whole surroundings are beautiful, very calming and soothing. Herbal teas and fruit and light snacks were available for customer use in the relaxation room. Jackie (My massage therapist) picked me up punctually. Oh my - what a massage, my gift certificate was for the deep tissue massage and it was wonderful, amazing, out of this planet!! I am addicted now. On my way out I made an appoinment for a facial and another massage. I will never make the trip into Manhattan again to use a salon that treat you like just another number. Pure offers sincere, genuine care and wonferful treatments and actually deliver the goods. I felt so looked after, from the Reception staff to0 everyone. I love it here, it's going to be like a second home for me from now on..... Pros: Parking underneath 7 train/ handicapped accesible Cons: They don't stay open past five on Sundays more
