Great Birthday! 1/2/2011

We just hosted our 8 year old daughter's birthday here after hearing about it favorably from friends. From the beginning the service was excellent. They called us to confirm all the details 1 week before the party. They greeted us at the door with big smiles and knew all the guests by name before we went into the party room. They really made my daugher feel special and even loaded the presents into the car when we were done. I plan on hosting my 4 year old sons party here next month. I would recommend booking early though because our preferred time slots were full 3 weeks in advance. more

Best Party Place in Richmond! Great fun! Great staff! 8/28/2008

I couldn?t disagree more with the 6/25/08 post. My family has had 3 parties at this Pump It Up and we?ve loved every minute of it! \r \r They told me how much time my parties included when I booked them, so IF I extended my party beyond the time I reserved, I would expect to be charged for it. Actually, I think I read about the charge in the invitation packet they sent me and I definitely remember seeing a sign on the wall in the room where you eat your cake, etc. Even so, the helper in the room with us made it clear when it was time to go, but I guess subtlety is lost on some people.\r \r My kids and all of their friends have a ball every time we go there and I?ve only heard good things about it among every one I know. We plan to have many more parties at Pump It Up! Keep up the great work guys!\r Pros: Private, safe, clean, professional/attentive staff Cons: Hard to get a good party time slot if you don't book well in advance more

Great Party_Poor Customer Service 6/25/2008

I absolutely agree with last entry regarding management. My son had his party at Pump it Up this past weekend. What a time the kids had as they played in one of the several Arenas. Several of our guests arrived late (as the location in not the easiest to find). The attendants were very helpful and allowed the kids to get the most from their playtime. However this caused us to run a little over in the party room. \r \r Mind you that in the arena, our party attendants constantly reminded us of our time. But, in the party room we were never told that we'd ran out of time. As a matter of fact, our party room attendant held casual conversation with my family and I as we packed up the party.\r \r When I went to pay for the party, the manager RUDELY informed me that we'd stayed in the party room past our time and would have to pay $35 for staying over our time. She didn't want to hear about the constant time reminders that we had in the Arena and that we failed to have just one time reminder in the partyroom (kind of like it was intentional on PumpItUp!) I was worried about making sure that everyone had a goodie bag and thanking the parents & kids for coming to our party...needless to say I lost track of time. When I refused to pay the bogus bill, she told me that's okay because they were going to charge my credit card anyway!\r \r Pros: Kids Love It!!!! Cons: Poor Manager more

Not customer friendly 2/21/2007

I went to Pump it Up on President's Day with my 3 girls ages 2,3,10. I knew my oldest daughter wouldn't be able to use the equipment but she was Ok with just standing with me and watching her sisters. (It's only for ages 6 and under on that day/time) I was actually happy to have the extra set of hands to help with the little ones as I'm pregnant and chasing 2 little ones around it not ideal.\r \r When I got there I paid for the younger two and then waited for them to start the ""instructional video"" that they make everyone watch before going in. \r This young employee came over to me and pointed to my oldest daughter and asked if she was with me. I advised her that she was. Then I was told she could not go in the jumping room. \r I told the girl that I knew she couldn't go on the equipment and she'd just stand with me. The girl told me that she couldn't even go back there and watch and had to wait out in the lobby. \r Well for those that have never been to Pump It Up, you can not see the lobby from the party room. I am not leaving my 10 year old daughter in a lobby when I can't see her. If she was old enough to stay alone, then I would have kept her at home and most certainly was not leaving her in alone in a public place. \r \r The girl, who identified herself as the manager would not budge. She wanted me to leave my daughter alone in the lobby or to leave. I chose to leave and went to the Playroom instead. \r \r If I had gone to Pump It Up with my husband they would have allowed us both to go back and watch the kids jump, but for some reason an older sibling is not allowed to watch. I find this to be ridiculous.\r \r Also, they tried to charge my friend for her 8 month old son to go in. They said they have a 35 person limit and have to charge for all kids whether they jump or not. This franchise is definitely more focused on making a dollar than pleasing their customers. Cons: Only focused on making a dollar, not pleasing customers. more
