Pulse Performing Arts Studio

The Pulse Performing Arts Studio is not only a dance studio but also a home away from home for my daughter. She has learned a variety of dance styles, not only ballet and jazz, but also tap and acro which many other studios don't offer. The staff are all caring and professional. Many of the teachers are working dancers in the city and teach at night. There are classes offered for all levels of dancers. All dancers get to shine. For the more serious dancers, there are opportunities to join various dance companies and perform at many various venues across the country. My daughter has danced with many professional dancers and has won many scholarships because of her strong dance technique she has learned at the Pulse. She is happy and comfortable when she is at the Pulse and with her dance family. She is learning life lessons about hard work, dedication, confidence, team work, leadership, etc., and not all dance studios foster these same values while teaching dance. This special dance studio could not be this way without the director setting the tone. The artistic director welcomes all students and encourages all dancers to be well rounded and confident individuals and dancers. I'm not sure where the other reviewer was, but she was definitely not describing the Pulse. Unlike most other studios in the area, this is a student centered facility. My daughters absolutely love the studio, and they have gotten many of their friends to join as well. All students are treated equally, all students are encouraged, and there is a real family feel to the studio. It's very clean and modern looking, and the teachers are very well trained and focused on students. Many of the teachers are actively performing in New York City. As for price, the Pulse is in line with other local studios. In my opinion you get much more than dance education here, you get life education. Students are taught respect and the normal pettiness and cutthroat competitiveness found at other studios is not tolerated here. Finally, as proof of what I've said above, the studio has seen a major influx of students from other local studios. The most common comment from these new students is that they can't believe how welcoming the Pulse is, how the director actually knows their names (she is the most approachable and friendly person I've ever met), and what a joy it is to dance at a studio that isn't all about winning trophies, but more about learning the value of hard work and dedication. But don't take my word for it, come in to the studio and audit a class. You'll quickly see how this is a special place, and one that you would be proud to have your children attend.
