Worst

I grew up on Pudge's, and while I grant it's A LOT OF CHEESESTEAK FOR YOUR BUCK, it's relatively bland. GOD FORBID you should get one with sauce to go, because even in-house, the...

Don't need to go to Philly for a cheese steak - best ones are right here! more

Big Steaks and Hoagies 3/4/2010

Giant steaks and hoagies; great value. Sandwaiches are not always the same size, consistency or taste--need to get a handle on this. Pros: Good Value Cons: Inconsistent more

Great cheesesteak 1/2/2009

I stopped by with my grandson to treat him to a Philly cheesesteak. My grandson was never in Philly before, but the staff were extremely patient and helpful. The sandwich was delicious and HUGE. I don't see how the taste could be beat any other place. Only issue? I wish they would get a larger place, but I will return. more

A WONDERFUL DINING ESTABLISHMENT WITH WONDERFUL EMPLOYEES 10/21/2008

PUDGE'S IS A GREAT PLACE TO EAT AT ANYTIME ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. I LOVE THEIR EMPLOYEES, I FIND THAT OF ALL THE PLACES I GO, PUDGE'S HAS THE BEST CHEESESTEAKS.. ITS A SHAME THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS DON'T FEEL THE SAME WAY. ITS EVEN WORSE THAT A GROWN MAN WOULD WASTE HIS TIME POSTING RUDE COMMENTS ABOUT PEOPLE HE DOESN'T EVEN PERSONALLY KNOW. I BET THAT GUY COULDN'T LAST A MINUTE WORKING AT PUDGES.. I BET HIS LAZY BUM HASNT DONE ANY HARD LABOR A DAY IN HIS LIFE. SO FOLKS, GET OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND GO FOR A RUN!!!!!!!!! Pros: GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE Cons: RUDE CUSTOMERS more

Rude young kids are ruining this place! 5/3/2008

The young girl who waitresses and a young guy who cooks have been lazy and rude on too many occasions, so I can't go to what used to be a weekly visit for me. I never minded how dirty and crowded Pudge's was because the food was good, but the young kids have been rude enough that I know go to Lee's in Norristown or Pudge's 2. Pudge's 1 has too much attitude these days, and its a shame! Pros: Good if you have the regular staff that has been around for years Cons: Young girl and guy give attitude, wrong food, more attitude, or close early! more

Cheesesteak,Cheesesteak,Cheesesteak 3/27/2008

I dont know too many people that have been eating at Pudges as long as me. I used to live in Plymouth Valley. I was about 10 years old and I used to walk to a little Pizzeria right down the street called Pudges Pizza and even at that young age I liked their sandwiches best. I am somewhat older now Pudges has moved to Blue Bell and stopped making pizza but continues to make the absolute best cheessteak known to man. Dont forget to take home one of the greatest Italian Hoagies in existance. more

The Best Cheesesteak anywhere 4/18/2006

I have been going to Pudge's since I was little. My mom has worked their almost my whole life! I have never been able to find a cheesesteak that even comes close to this one! The person that said their rolls are 2 different sizes is crazy. The large is 18 inches the small is 12 inches! So unless you are ordering 2 different things you get what you pay for. So come in and try them out. You will not be disapointed! Tommy the cook makes the best cheesesteak ever!!!!! And the Hoagies are pretty darn good too:) more

Glad your here 1/21/2006

I lived in Blue bell for years and missed the steaks at Pudges since I moved to Elkins Park. I just found out that they just opened a store around the corner from me. If they are any bit as good as the original I will be there often. more

Great Cheesesteak if you dine in! 1/8/2006

Pudge's makes one of the best cheesesteaks in the area, bar none. However, there are a few caveats! Do not take out. For some reason, the size of the takeout cheese steak is half the size if you dine in. Dining in has its drawbacks as Pudge's is real hole; tables are old and crowded together, chairs are not the most comfortable. It's a real shame they don't update their restaurant or just move to a larger facility. Pros: Portion (eatin only), taste, selection Cons: ambiance, take out, service more

PERFECTION IN A ROLL 7/11/2005

I grea up right accross the street from Pudges' and now living in lancaster county, my family and I STILL make a point to get a steak from Pudge's. Besides the amazing fact that they LOAD the steaks, they actually melt the cheese into the meat, making a perfect balance of meat and cheese melted together. I drool every time I think of their steaks. They use fresh, quality ingredients, so you won't find any unwanted surprises in your lunch. -and a trick to reheat your pudge, take it apart, reheat the meat and toast the roll- Pros: made to order, best steaks Cons: crowded at lunch more

was that meat? 6/3/2005

I had my first cheesesteak from ""Pudge"" the other day. Heck of a drive from Philly (so much cars). I was curious all day that i was eating it. It was HUGE, but what kind of beef was that? It was stringy and tuff. It was just average. Im not sure if it was worth the trip to get a cheesesteak. more

1st thing I want when I come home. 6/2/2005

I'm in the Navy and everytime I come home, I make a stop here. The steaks taste great and are HUGE!!! more

best cheesesteak in the 'burbs! 9/5/2004

best cheesesteak outside of philly and better than the namesakes - jims, pats, genos, etc. bring a friend because the sandwiches are huge. folks around the country have even had pudge's cheesesteaks fedxed to them they love it so much. a big miss it's not usually on the best cheesesteak in philadelphia magazine's annual list. Pros: enormous sandwiches more

ordinary... 9/1/2004

If you live close to Blue Bell, PA, then it's worth the trip to get cheesesteak. If you live on the other side of the bridge (NJ) then forget it (traffic will kill ya). These are ordinary cheesesteak, and the only reason i would come back is because the size are enormous...that's a plus. Pros: HUGE more

Forget S.Phila 6/22/2004

These are the BEST cheesesteaks! Period! No steaming here. Nothing but quality! Cooked to order! Geno's , Pat's, Jim's can't touch these! Mama's isn't even close. Especially the service! Do yourself a favor........... Pros: Cooked to Order, Quality, Friendly more

Cheesesteak heaven! 3/13/2004

Why go into Philly when the best of cheesesteaks is in the burbs? Pudge's is hands down the best cheesesteak you'll ever have! Great prices, and alot of food. Pros: huge portions, inexpensive, authentic taste more

I love Pudge's 10/30/2003

For all of you people that think that you can't get a good cheesesteak out side of Philly, think again. Pudges is one great place to get a cheesesteak in the suburbs. The one thing I like about Pudges is the fact that you get a lot of steak at a very low price. Pros: huge cheesesteaks, huge hogies, cheep prices Cons: hard to find more

Wonderful 2/20/2003

These are the best cheesesteaks I've ever bitten into. When I was in the area, I was there at least 2 times a week. I've tried others, and they couldn't even come close! Pros: Inexpensive, Large portions more

good cheesesteaks!! 1/30/2003

I've tried all the philly cheesesteak places and Pudge's holds up pretty well in comparison. the roll could've been a little fresher. but good portions. good flavor. overall good quality more

best hole in the wall 1/2/2003

This is a legend in tyhe suburbs. When the original pudge was alive this was the best anywhere. Pros: best steak and rolls, crowded at lunch, inexpensive Cons: hole in the wall more
