Fawning, when normally used in its original context, means groveling, bootlicking, sucking up and obsequious. All these terms apply to the service rendered at the Publix located on Old Hickory Road in Nashville. The question is: how does one get his employees to accomplish this week after week until it becomes habitual? It's called leading by example, getting in the trenches and working with your troops. I simply cannot get enough of them. As you walk through this store people literally fall over themselves to give you service with a smile. It's gotten to the point that I can no longer overlook this exemplary behavior. It is uncanny and above and beyond the call of duty. It is no longer just earning a paycheck, it is putting the customer first and making him feel like a king. This type of treatment is unheard of, but this Manager Bryant is succeeding 100% of the time and loving it. I recently wrote to the CEO of the company and received a wonderful reply, but it simply was not enough. I feel like I want to shout if from the rooftops because NONE of its competition is even in the running. It's as if Publix is the only one in the race. See for yourself. Go in there and try to count how many employees stop you in the aisles and ask if you need anything. The word is ludicrous but absolutely WONDERFUL.
Pros: Great prices, money coupons, two for one's, service with a smile, superior management.
