Ate here when it first opened. Wonderful. Warm, rustic atmosphere, attentive service, flavorful food. Great addition to the neighborhood. This visit, not so much, which was a bummer. There was a prix fixe for ""Eat out in Brooklyn"" during March. Not sure what that was but I think I know what soup is. However, when I ordered the kale and cannelli soup off the prix fixe it was a stew. Actually it was less liquid than a stew, more like oatmeal. Nice flavor, but not a soup. I wished the (very nice)waiter had told me it might not be what I would expect, authentic Italian or not. It was filling, which was good because when I got my tiny portion of vegetable tagliatelle, I wasn't too hungry. The pasta was handmade and perfectly cooked but the small portion was RIDICULOUS for the price, even prix fixe. It was weird because my friend got the venison(also prix fixe) and this portion was larger than the pasta. Then we had to practically beg for our dessert and finally our check. Maybe it was an off night, but unfortunately I won't return. And since it is cash only they really should get an ATM, well hidden of course, like Aurora, so it's not an eyesore.
Pros: Beautiful romantic atmosphere, Italian waitstaff
Cons: Wine list is pricey
