I have used Prunin Arboriculture & Landscapes and their company for the past 4 years and they are by far the best and most professional tree removal / tree trim company out there. I hired them again recently to remove 4 good sized (but ugly) Camphor trees from the side of our home - this was a big job and as expected, they did an outstanding job. I have tried other (cheaper) crews a couple times in the past, but they just don't have the experience to properly trim up a tree. We almost lost a beautiful Chinese Elm that another company trimmed back way too much. I stick with them because they know what they are doing. Are there cheaper quotes out there? Sure, but for me, I want the knowledge that leads to professional end results on my property and willing to pay just little more to get it. The name “Prunin Arboriculture” says it all! We called them to come and give us an estimate on getting our yard ready before we put our house on the market. We had some ideas of our own, but were seeking additional ideas. They were able to look at the yard, and give us his ideas about what we needed, as well as an estimate on the spot (the best one we received!). We got estimates from a number of companies, none of which could beat the ideas that they had or their price. Their crew were very professional, hard working, neat and tidy and seemed to take great pride in the work they did. The job couldn’t have went better! We hope to use them on our new house as well! more

We were thoroughly pleased with the work performed at our home by Prunin Arboriculture. From design through execution, their crew were knowledgeable, hard working and easy to deal with. We had very specific thoughts about how we wanted our front yard to look, and they were able to translate our ideas into reality, achieving the beauty and functionality that we had in mind. I have an established garden that was starting to lose its flow! I needed someone, with expert plant knowledge, who could look at the existing structure of the garden and recommend plants that would both enhance and complement the current scheme. Prunin Arboriculture & Landscapes clearly showed that he was a plants man rather than a hard landscaper. Peter provided me with beautiful plants, helpful advice on which shrubs I could cut back hard and a detailed list of all the plants that they had used. I'm sure I will use their services again and I would not hesitate to recommend them. more

OMG I wish I had read a review before working with this horrible company. Rob, the owner was the most deceitful, con man I've ever encountered. We have a sizable property with a substantial amount of trees. A neighbor recommended the company but we found out later it was when it was operated by a reputable owner. We were charged several thousand over what was given in the estimate, and expected to pay before the job was completed. Rob made promises which were never kept.\r \r Where to start. His truck broke down in our driveway spilling the entire contents of the transmission. To help I paid to have another truck bring their equipment up to the property which I was not paid back for. When asked about the 8quarts of fluid stain on my newly paved drive he came back with two bottles of dawn dish detergent which he left for us to clean\r \r The initial work was to enhance a view corridor of the mountains. After several attempts to do what was asked, he had his crew cut ALL branches on one ONE SIDE of three 40' trees. As you could imagine, this ruined the trees that were each over thirty years old. He also removed a 45' protected(tagged) oak tree by mistake. When confronted he said to take another tag from an adjoining tree, so the forestry dept would not fine him. This offense is 10k fine and that was their response?\r \r He promised to double chip all trimmings from the work, and evenly distribute it over the property. Instead he dumped a single 8yard pile of poorly chipped (once chipped) in our driveway, and said he would chip it again upon their return. 9 months later, and several requests he came to finish and never touched the old debris or delivered a 8yard of composted material as promised for not performing originally\r \r I wanted to sue his company but instead contacted three other tree companies to come in and Repair, and finish the horrible work instead\r \r I have documentation from each of the other companies as to the gross negligence of this man and his company. The balance we had previously was approx 2k, but we had to pay 4800.00 for tree services to remedy and finish the job, 700.00 for disposal of debris, and 490.00 to remedy drive way. \r \r Then the nerve of Rob to never return emails or any correspondence, but wait 8months then send us another bill for for over 4k which he said was interest on thge original 2k balance. I saved EVERY PIECE of information from Prunin, his emails, and three other contractors whom all of which said they happily would assist in legal proceedings. \r \r STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMANY\r more

I had Prunin Arboriculture & Landscapes come out and trim seven trees on my lot. When hired, his crew showed up right on time and got to work immediately. There were five guys and a large bucket truck. \r I've got two VERY large (both over 50 feet tall) and they both needed thinning and shaping. We ended up with twelve guys and two bucket trucks and they were here all day. Needless to say, I think the job was a little bigger than expected but they stuck to his estimated price when the job was done. The crew left my yard clean, and they did a superb job on all the trees. I feel I paid a very fair price, and will be using Prunin Arboriculture & Landscapes exclusively for any tree service I need.\r more

Rob Prunin swindled hundreds of dollars from my family. After receiving approval from our neighbors across the street, my husband hired Rob Prunin of Prunin Arboriculture and Maintenance to trim the 15 trees that were blocking our ocean view. He scheduled this on my birthday, so that when I came home he could surprise me with the view. Prunin's quote came in significantly higher than 2 other tree trimming services, but the other tree maintenance did not have availability for months, so my husband spent extra to try to make my birthday special. My husband left the check on the front door while we were out. When we returned, 2 of the trees were trimmed but only about a foot off the tops of each. The check was gone & had been cashed. Rob Prunin never came back to finish the job that he said he would. Rob wold not answer my husbands phone calls for weeks. When I called him he cussed at me on the phone and made many erratic comments. I do not think this company even deserves one star, but I was required to select at least one. Horrible business, horrible man. more

Caveat Emptor! Be warned if you are considering using this so-called ""contractor."" \r \r The owner, Rob, misrepresents himself and the capabilities of his crew. He promises the world and delivers a half-done, sloppy job. He hires unskilled laborers. The workers are pleasant and try to please the customer - but they are not trained and do not know how to do precision work. He provides used, crappy materials and gives them vague instructions. So the results are hap-hazard, at best. \r \r My landscaping is a diseaster! I will have to replant the entire yard next spring. What a costly mistake I made believing he was telling me the truth. AND, he kept raising the cost so it was far more than the original estimate..... What a mess!\r \r Save yourself the hassel and disappointment. \r \r PS - It was a different owner when the work was done for the good review above..... :(\r \r PPS - He only got one star because I couldn't post a ZERO!!!!\r \r more

I love Prunin! They knew what I wanted and delivered it. I would have to say that they made my Huntington Beach House look phenominal. There crew is professional and they wear safety gear like hard hat helmets, professional ropes and saddles. They also have Certified Tree Workers and Certified Arborists that are full of knowledge when it comes to trees and landscaping. I highly recommend using them!!!!!! Thanks Prunin!!!!!!!!!! Pros: They are artistic pruners that know what they are doing and love what they do. Cons: Make an appointment to schedule your trees ahead of time, because of high demand. more
