I DO NOT RECOMMEND this moving company and wish I had never used these people. My husband and I moved from NYC to NJ. We talked with Peter who gave us a reasonable quote over the phone and who boasted of drama free moving. On the day that we were scheduled to move, the movers showed up and told us that they wouldn't accept the boxes that our over sized stuff was packed in. The movers told us that we would have to (surprise, surprise) buy the boxes from them in order to have the items moved. We were so upset and told the movers that we were never told about being required to purchase these special boxes. The movers told us we either had to buy the boxes or they would walk away from the job. The lead mover was rude and threatened to leave before we understood what was happening. He started cursing at us and then told his guys to pack up and depart. We called Peter to talk it through and he told us that he doesn't need our business and that we either purchased the extra boxes or else the movers would walk away from the job. \r

And of course, now that we had more boxes to move, our price quote was increased once we moved our items to the new boxes. Plus, we were charged for the extra hours the crew was around because of the time it took for us to move all of our items to these other boxes.\r
\r
I will say the rest of the moving crew was nice, but they didn't have much regard for trying to avoid scratching our newly painted walls in our new home and weren't careful when setting down our stuff. We will never use Prudential Van Lines again and we will never refer their services to anyone. I""m upset to know they this company is still in business and I'd ask anyone doing research on this company to view the Yelp reviews prior to booking. \r
