Providence Canyon is a great way to spend the day. This state park includes hiking and backpacking trails from which you can view the canyon. The canyons are particularly beautiful near the time when sun is starting to set. The colors are stunning. The park also has picnic areas and shelters for your family gatherings. I believe they also have primitive campsites for a nominal charge.
