I became a customer when I noticed that a friend had the best hair cuts I had ever seen on her. From the first cut Charles gave me, my hair, which is very fine and difficult to manage, has finally looked stylish and much fuller. But the whole experience is a treat. The colorists are very good and quite nice, the decor is custom and gorgeous, and I love being given a cup of coffee in a fine porcelain cup. I wish I could have one of Charles' updos, which rival anything done on the Hollywood screen. While Charles is not the type to chat you up, what I want is the great hair cut, not a 1-on-1. Some people complain about the wait in their comments, but in the last 5 years I have only experienced that once and the staff was very apologetic about it. I travel a long way to see Charles because I couldn't find anyone as good closer to home. Great job! more

I had the WORSE salon experience of my life here. The vibe was WEIRD and cold!!! I made an appt based on positive reviews that I read and requested Charles to cut my hair. Although the haircut was not bad, it was not worth the $$$$, attitude and strangeness that I received from him and his inept staff. Although I had an appointment, I had to WAIT...and WAIT. While he cut my hair, assistants hovered around him like he was god's gift. PLEASE. I tried to make small talk with him and asked about the salon and the he abruptly said ""Ma'am, I don't need to advertise..."" What a SNOT!!! Can someone remind him that we are in Great Neck. Then he passed me to an asst to blowout my hair... she had no idea what she was doing so after 15 minutes, he sent another to ""help"" her. So here I was with two trainees tugging and blowing at the same time. One of them actually burned me. I could not wait to get out of this place. Why did I pay more for the top stylist, only to have him pass me to his inept assistants? You'll get more attention if you request anyone else but him!!! Pros: can't think of even one... Cons: SNOTTY, and inept staff, OVER priced, LONG WAIT more

I have been to many salons in NY and this is by far the best!......Marisa is by far the best colorist I've ever had, she has an exceptional talent for knowing exactly how to give natural looking highlights and Sam never fails to give an excellent haircut! Pros: Good parking, Ambiance more

All i have to say is WOW! I have been to several salons on the northshore, and none compared to this. From the gorgeous antique italian decor to the friendly staff, i truly enjoyed my experience at Pristine. I had highlights with a cute, and bubbly senior colorist, named Daniela. And a haircut w/ a new staylist, Damien. I was very pleased with the results of both! more

Despite the wait, I have to say that the results were amazing. I had a single process coloring w/ one of the Senior colorist there along w/ a hair cut and blow out. Although it was pretty price, I was definitely 110% impressed. Pros: excellent colorist, great stylist Cons: long waits, pricey more
