Fantastic little coffee shop 2/1/2010

I moved to area about 4 months ago and Priscilla's is my favorite place to go in Toluca Lake. Pros: consistent, strong without being bitter, friendly staff Cons: crowded at times, not enough parking more

Love It! 2/3/2009

This is a great coffee house. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Super tasty coffee drinks. Good assortment of loose teas and coffee beans. Interesting array of people. Lots of stars come here from nearby studios. Have seen Miley Cyrus, Mel Gibson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Candace Bergen and others. Great place to people watch or just relax. Pros: Ambience, Coffee Drinks, Service more

love it 3/8/2008

I absolutely love Priscilla's and go there almost every day. Their baristas are extremely cool, very polite and super friendly. None of them ever gave me any attitude or was rude. Pros: coffee, atmosphere, parking, free internet more

You will love it. 2/20/2008

I'm actually pretty surprised to read some of the negative comments in this section. This is a great spot for all of the reasons you go to a coffee shop: free internet, great coffee, yummy pastries, great people watching, and a place to sit and read, write or meet with a friend. I know people who move away from the area and long for a place like this. It's really a sweet spot to hang out. It's true...very industry...but it's not pretentious. I think it's pretty ironic when people live, oh, 3 blocks from 5 major studios and complain that it feels too ""industry"". If you don't like the vibe, then move to Northridge or Simi Valley...there's plenty of vanilla strip mall suburbia waiting for you. more

Great escape from Starbucks! 1/24/2008

Yes, it's full of industry people writing screenplays, but it's a great little coffeeshop. I've always had excellent service from the staff, and they've got a great variety of drinks and snacks (really good croissant sandwiches and pastries, although they're better earlier in the day). A coffeeshop that makes hot apple cider always gets a good grade in my book :) Most of the patrons are friendly and will strike up conversations out of the blue, and I've even seen people offer up an empty seat at their table to a stranger when it's crowded. If you're looking to break away from the chain coffeeshops in the area, this is the place. Pros: nice atmosphere, good hot apple cider, large tables, adequate plugs for laptops, nice service Cons: can be crowded, loads of industry people more

Ruder the better 6/18/2007

If you enjoy attitude, this is the place! It is hard to tell who is more important, the customers or the employees! Brush up on your sarcasm and anger!! Fight to be the one to manipulate other people! Remember, you are in the thick of creativity here!!! Pros: parking Cons: everything else more

It isn't all 'industry' folks... 3/15/2007

Ok, so I'm one of those 'regulars' the other reviewers are talking about - so obviously I love the place. It's a great place to get coffee and get some work done. I often bring in homework or papers to grade, so it isn't all 'industry' folk as some people have described. I've even attended knitting/crocheting circles that meet at there. Pros: free internet, study atmosphere, friendly crowd, people watching Cons: parking can be hard to find when crowded more

steamed 8/21/2004

Makers of the best blended coffee drink I've had (the mint mocha) and home to annoying ""bizz"" folk in full Tevas + socks, whirring laptop glory. Their regulars really are that -- I think some of these guys stake out tables at 9AM and only get up to flirt with the counter girls every hour or so. And no, the vaguely homespun/your aunt's kitchen decor doesn't distract (or comfort) quite enough to make up for it. Still, love that mint mocha. Pros: good minty coffee Cons: , parking more

jammin java 6/6/2004

I used to have that other chain coffee all of the time, but once I experienced Priscilla's coffee I will never go back. Nothing beat's their fresh coffee and the fun environment. It's kind of funny how the other chain shop is across the street and is never busy, but there is always people in Priscilla's. Pros: fresh coffee, good selection more

Mediocre Mocha 11/10/2003

It's all about the ambiance, because there is nothing to the drinks or the service. I've had better mochas with a glass of hot water and a hershey's kiss, watered down and oh so bland. The place looks nice, but you are surrounded by wanna -be's and never-will-be's. Cons: fake, impersonal, bad coffee more

Keep Script and Cell Phone in Sight 6/16/2002

Why do I always feel like I'm the only person in here without a script? Literally everyone that goes there has some big thing they're working on. If they aren't plugged into a laptop, then they're on the edge of their seat waiting for the cell phone to ring. It's a nice place for good coffee and all, but the atmosphere is sometimes a bit too ""industry."" Pros: good coffee, outdoor seating Cons: industry atmosphere more
