Princeton Van Service

I repeatedly emailed asking for info on time frame and price quote. My emails would receive a half-answer, and the best price estimate i got was just how much per hour they would charge. I stated what my required time frame was, and ordered their recommended crew size. I also had my entire house packed up and grouped as piles of what needed to go. What should have been a simple job of carrying the items onto the truck stretched out into a far too long affair. On top of that, the crew reported to me that because they were short on time and paid so poorly, they would take a larger tip just to finish the job. overall it felt like extortion. Ultimately, they even left behind a number of items that i specifically directed them to take. When i emailed my complaint i was told that i should have done a walkthrough at the end, even though they had blown past my time requirements and i had to attend my next house closing. I would recommend going with a more professional company that provides quotes and sticks to deadlines. more

This was the most unprofessional moving company I have ever worked with. It took them 14 hours to complete a move from one two bedroom apartment, to another one only 45 minutes away. - They damaged furniture. They broke our adjustable bed, our most expensive piece of furniture and scratched our Italian leather couch because they were too lazy to wrap them properly. - They were rude. The leader of the group continually called one of the workers retarded, said he couldn't do anything right and threatened not to pay him for the work. They were bickering throughout the entire day - I had to do at least 30% of the truck unloading at the our destination myself. If I hadn't they would never have finished at all and would have needed to keep our stuff overnight. If that happened I don't think we would have ever seen them or our belongings again. - They didn't offer us an in person quote, and as a result, the price they charged us ended up being 65% more than the quote because of how many hours they took to do the job poorly. They quoted us at 1200 and charged 2000. They also didn't offer free boxes, which is typical of a professional moving company. We believe they intentionally moved slowly so that they could charge us the maximum amount. They've given us no reimbursements for the furniture they damaged, and they have been a nightmare to work with. I would give them negative five stars if at all possible. My advice: use *ANY OTHER COMPANY* if you are planning a move. more

Horrible experience. Dishonest, poor planning - Lou is a liar and crook. They sent a truck half the size i needed requiring multiple trips and charged me for their poor planning. Then they held some of my items hostage because it was 1am and I didn't have an extra $1000 lying around even though I offered a personal check for the "overage". Lou the owner is inaccessible and will not take a call once the move has started. I mentioned my bad experience to friends in the Princeton area moving into very large homes and they have used other movers based on my advice. Luckily this is business Lou will not be getting. Worst moving experience I've ever had. Stay away! more

I used Princeton Van Service to move 2 miles. They were 2 hours late on moving day and did not even call to let me know they would be late. They ran out of dolly's because they had so many moves that day. Once they loaded my stuff on the truck they told me there was an extra $100.00 charge for travel time. Also note, when we booked the move the booking person Anthony failed to tell us this. One I said the move was only 2 miles they claimed it was for supplies. Again they did not even bring a dolly. Then when we finally got to our destination they scratched the hardwood floors. I called to complain and they claimed somene would come fix the floor. Guess what no one has come yet and the move was 2 months ago. Don't waste your time with this sevice. The last thing you need when moving is more aggravation. more

I can honestly say, my move with Princeton Van Service was one of the best experiences I ever had with a mover and I have moved several times. My final price was within $50.00 of the estimate and the crew did a outstanding job with no issues.. I would recommend Princeton Van Service to everyone.................. more

We didn't even get far enough to use them as a mover. I made an appointment for them to show up and provide an estimate for packing and loading a truck for a cross-country move. The estimator never showed for the appointment and when someone finally returned my call, I was given a fabricated story of how they tried to call me but was unable to reach a voice mail. Additionally, they stated that the estimator would be in the area later that day and the next day if we wished to reschedule. So, giving them the benefit of the doubt we agreed that they could notify us later that day to provide a concrete time for the estimator to come to our home. They never called. There are enough movers out there with good reviews that you should steer clear of these people at all costs. Unreliable. Unprofessional. more

We are very satisfied with our recent experience with Princeton Van Service. The Representative that we had, Marty, did a very thorough and professional job of estimating the cost of the move, and his follow-through with details was outstanding. The forman and his crew were all very professional and managed to get everything in the truck, which was an INCREDIBLE task in itself! Our belongings were brought to us in a very timely mannor, driving up to Vermont during the middle of the night. Everything was wrapped and handled carefully and there was no damage or breakage. The crew at both our first home and our new home was very hard-working and pleasant. I would highly recommend them and will use them again should the need arise. more

These people were absolutely horrible. A 3-bedroom house with no major appliances involved and it took them 2 days. Except we had to threaten them because they didn't want to return the second day, after they left 15% of our property in the driveway and garage. When they did return the second day, they sent two men and a Toyota mini-truck, with a bed that was 5' long. No kidding. I am not making this up. I am, however, suing them. Not only did they cost time away from our work, but they completely ignored our instructions for off-loading our boxes. Each box was clearly marked with a number and location for it in the new house. Despite repeated reminders to follow the locations for the boxes, they dumped them wherever it was convenient. As a result we are literally just going from room to room looking for basic things like clothes and pet food. They did not reassemble our bed furniture and it wasn't until late that night while we were trying to do it ourselves that we noticed that part of the frame was missing. So we slept on the floor.
