Best

I've been going to Presidio Way for the past 10 years now and Dr. Bloom has been the primary Vet for my pets. He has always been thorough and given my pets the best veterinary car...

Worst

First off the front office was very pleasent. The doctor recommended unnecessary, costly testing. The doctor himself was OK, he did his job but nothing stood out. The back rooms ...

I would not recommend any other veterinary clinic other than this one to my friends. The level of trust I have here is very high due to their quality services. more

Was worried with my dog's condition before visiting this veterinary clinic. I was happy that they did what they can to help my dog get back to health. Thank you very much. more

Dr. Bloom at Presidio Way. 6/29/2010

I've been going to Presidio Way for the past 10 years now and Dr. Bloom has been the primary Vet for my pets. He has always been thorough and given my pets the best veterinary care possible. With the exception of the parking being an inconvenience because of the location, I still recommend them. I don't think their prices are anymore than other vets and you pay for quality when you go here. more

Consistent comprehensive care 2/22/2010

I've brought 6 pets here over a period of 15 years. We've seen mostly Dr Phillips and Dr Hazenow, but have seen the others at times. Sandy and Ken have drawn on their own extensive knowledge base, and have spent hours conducting research to make sure the diagnosis and treatment of our ""furkids"" is the most appropriate to their (and our) needs. They call back regularly to check on progress, and never miss making a call to report on test findings, etc. Although we've moved 115 miles away, we're still clients and patients. Pros: flexible, conscientious Cons: parking! more

Years of Great Service 1/19/2009

I've been taking our pets (4 dogs, 3 cats) to PW for 12 years, seeing primarily Dr Phillips and Dr Hazenow. They have provided consistently outstanding care. They take time to research unusual problems, consult with specialists, make referrals as needed, and hug, pet, and kiss their ""patients"". They explain the problems, the alternatives, and the costs, answering all our questions. \r \r I've recommended them to my friends; none of them have been disappointed and all have become fans. \r \r Parking can be a pain, and they aren't cheap (but I've heard of similar fees being charged by other practices, so I imagine they are not overpriced). Pros: knowledgable, patient, and willing to take time Cons: parking more

Thorough and Professional 11/6/2008

My cat means the world to me but like so many people I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on him. Presidio Way at first comes across as a very costly place - located in upscale Laurel Village and frequented by some wealthy looking clientele. I was at first taken aback by some of the costs involved in my cats procedures - and it seemed like he needed a lot more done than I had initially imagined. BUT, soon after his dental operation he appeared vibrant and happy - not like his previous experience (with another vet) getting sick from the anesthesia and falling down all over the place. That alone impressed me very much. Dr. Hazanow came across as very knowledgable and explained exactly what needed to be done and why. Other places may be cheaper, but this place is top notch. Pros: great vets more

Choose wisely 10/31/2008

I have a problem doggy. She has problems (>$38,000). I have gone to this hospital for a long time and I know the doctors. Stick with Dr. Moran. He loves animals and is the most caring and involved vet I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.\r \r Pros: Dr. Moran is a fantastic vet Cons: ... some other parts of the practice more

Client for Over 20 Years 5/18/2008

I started with Presidio Way in the mid-seventies when they spayed my dog. I stuck with them through four other dogs until I had to move away a couple of years ago. I can only speak about the two vets that started the place, Drs Bloom and Phillips. They're great and when I move back to San Francisco, I'll be going back to Presidio Way. more

If you want the best for your pet, this is the place. 4/21/2008

Front Desk Staff = Dedicated, Passionate and Professional\r \r Doctors = Personally I have only seen Dr. Bloom, but he is amazing. I have never questioned my bill and if i did I know I would get any honest answer. This man is dedicated and a real pro.\r \r Cost = Considering what measures are taken to ensure no mistakes are made, the cost is not as bad as people make it out to be. Just because you got your cat for $20, doesn't mean that their life is only worth that much. I adore all my pets and would no anything for them, even though I'm not a wealthy person. If you can't afford an animal (Food, Medical and Love), don't have one. If your not willing to do what it takes to care for them, don't be selfish. Veterinary medicine is as technical as people medicine and costs can reflect that.\r \r more

Used Car Salesman in Vet Labs 4/9/2008

Don't go here! The worst vet experience in my life. Brought my 10.5 year old golden retriever to have tumors looked at. All I got was completely unnecessary anal(anal is not a naughty word) gland removal, unnecessary ear cleaning, and unnecessary ear medication for $160. Didn't do I thing I asked them to do and only did things I directly asked them not to do. These are not vets they are absolute liars. They certainly didn't care about my dogs health, only how much money could they steal from me. Avoid this place! Pros: They're not pros they are cons Cons: Dogs health doesn't matter, greedy, manipulative, Why are these people vets? Sell used cars everyone expects you to lie. more

It'll cost your a fortune! 10/4/2007

My dog had a minor problem so I took him to Presidio Way Veterinary Clinic. Everyone on the phone was great, a little paper work to get started, but nothing out of the norm. However, once we were seen by the Vet, I know we were in for trouble. She wanted to do TONS of tests and seemed very unfriendly. I left without any tests and went to another vet down the road. They figured out what was wrong with my dog during the exam, fix him up and he was good as new. PWVH wanted 600 dollars..........for tests, etc. I paid less than 65 bucks........and my dog is perfect. I'd never go back there (even tho the other staff was great).......Money is all they care about! more

Long time customer of Presidio 5/2/2007

We've taken our dog to Presidio for about ten years. Other than a very minor billing glitch, everything has been fine. Great office staff, assistants and Doctors. They truly care about their patients, and it shows. Costs are high at ANY Vet nowadays, that comes with the territory. Their hours of operation are very convenient, and getting an appointment is fast and simple. more

Vet Visit 5/2/2007

First off the front office was very pleasent. The doctor recommended unnecessary, costly testing. The doctor himself was OK, he did his job but nothing stood out. The back rooms have a cluttered feel with stuff laying around, I guess just from a lack of space.\r In all it was a costly, unfulfilling visit. more

Ask for Sandy 2/10/2007

We love Dr. Hazanow! If you need a vet for your new pet, she'll take good care of both of you. If you are facing an extreme situation with an elderly or sickly pet, she is the go-to gal. When our dog got up in years and her health began failing, Sandy was wonderful about presenting us with our options and letting us make the decisions, all the while feeling good about the process. We especially appreciated all the support we had through our senior dog's final days before her passing and the sentiments we received from the staff afterward. If you decide to make an appointment at Presidio Way, be sure to ask for Sandy - she'll treat you and your pet right. \r \r Pros: Stellar service, caring and friendly staff, clean environment Cons: Parking can be rough but not impossible more

Ask for Dr. Hazanow 2/10/2007

Some users expressed a concern over the extra costs for tests that they may have deemed unnecessary; my experience has not been the same. Our vet has never suggested tests or treatments that our dogs did not need. Dr. Sandy Hazanow is thorough without being extreme. She will determine what the client's interests are and work from there. She'll let you know the difference between a test/treatment that is necessary and those that may be optional, depending on your needs. \r \r The staff has always been friendly and caring -- we especially appreciate all the support we had through our senior dog's final days before her passing and the sentiments we received from the staff afterward. \r \r If you decide to make an appointment at Presidio Way, be sure to ask for Sandy - she'll treat your pet with all the love he or she deserves. Pros: Terrific service, friendly and caring staff, clean location Cons: Parking is tough during busy shopping times more
