My 15th year going here. I remember when they were in a 10X10 room and now its so big. Amazing food, service and decor. The owner is usually standing around overseeing operations....

Presidential Thai Treatment? 8/15/2010

I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants in my day, and I have to say, this ranks in the top 5 I've been to. It's not Thai House (LA) and it's not Natalee Thai (Culver City) but it's pretty good. The food was delicious, plentiful and fresh while the server staff was attentive. They have patio seating as well. The only negative was that there is so much road construction going on outside that getting there was an exercise in futility and the parking lot was packed. But I'd rather wait for a meal at a packed restaurant than get right into a marginal place. more

Best Thai!! 2/25/2009

My 15th year going here. I remember when they were in a 10X10 room and now its so big. Amazing food, service and decor. The owner is usually standing around overseeing operations. \r I am picky eater and usually very critical of restaurants and this in #1 in Thai food.\r I cook thai at home and Presidents sets the bar at the top.\r Be ready to wait..its worth it. \r \r I usually get the chicken satay, flat noodles and tom ka gai (coconut soup) with chicken. \r All excellent choices if you want to try. Pros: Clean and very hygenic place Cons: Parking more

Best Thai lunch place 11/26/2008

best food 6/13/2008

Great food. They now have one in Pico Rivera. It is called President Thai Cafe. Located in 9340 Whittier Blvd Pico Rivera. 562 949 4189. Tony is the manager. They have great service. They serve the same food as the one in Pasadena. Great location. more

Fun place to have dinner. 2/17/2008

OK...let me start out by saying that I'm sure this isn't the most authentic Thai place you can eat at...I'm sure there are more bizarre places to eat if you want truly authentic meals.\r \r With that said, I want to compare this place to probably the other well know Thai place in Pasadena...Saladang. We've been going there regularly for a while and I always past this President place wondering what it would be like. Well, finally we tried it. And it was excellent.\r \r A few things:\r \r SERVICE:\r \r President Thai blowws away Saladang. Saladang hosts and hostesses are rude, unapologetic, and make you feel like you have no rights if you order something wrong...EVEN IF it's their mistake! \r \r Example: At President, we ordered two glasses of Cabernet...they brought us Merlot...we asked they change it since it was wrong...the waitress was very apologetic and quickly changed our order. If that were at Saladang, you'd not only end up drinking the wrong drink, you'd also pay for it and they make feel like YOU DID IT.\r \r FOOD:\r \r I thought Saladang's food was good...but after trying President's food, forget it. President's food is fresher, more flavourful, and less oily. Their yellow curry was very very good..their Garlic Scallop and Shrimp was fantastic...their Satay was wonderful. Everything hitt the spot...they gave us plenty of rice, didn't hesitate to offer us other things if something was missing..\r \r OVERALL:\r \r Great experience so far. It was busy...so be prepared to wait a little...but it was good.\r \r I recommend trying it at least once to see the differences....I don't think we'll go back to Saladang anytime soon. Pros: Great food, good price, nice service. Cons: Quite busy...but gives the place liveliness more

one of the best Thai food in pasadena 9/19/2006

All the food are mouth watering. This place always crowded, and you want to make a reservation on weekends. I never had a dull time when I go there. Pros: Cheap price, great food more

Great range of dishes 6/8/2006

What I love about this place is that you can just go for some noodles, or go all out and order the specialty items. Their crab fried rice, deep fried fish is great. It is interesting that there are some chinese translations in part of the menu. more

Like Family 5/8/2006

I love this place! I love the food. I love the service. I love the owners. I started off going to the original location in on Rosemead, and while they were remodeling I went to their second location on Colorado. The Colorado location is more modest while the original spot is very nice and upscale. I recommend the Pad Kee Mow with tofu, made with chow mein noodles instead of flat noodles. I eat there about twice a week and I still can't get enough! As a vegetarian, I like the flexibility to substitute tofu in most of the dishes. When I left my card there once, they held it for me for a couple of days until I could pick it up. I've moved to Los Angeles, and I have no problem driving out to Pasadena twice a week just to get my President Thai fix! Pros: Excellent food, Veggie friendly, Great staff more

Great Thai Food. Period. 8/28/2005

Don't listen to the morons that claim this place serves ""Teriyaki Chicken"" - Huh?! - obviously the wrong place. This is just GREAT Thai food, and I've had authentic homemade Thai food cooked by my Thai friend's family. Beautiful accomodations (the newly remodelled place is gorgeous). The food is very solid, Green Curry was a delight, the Larb was excellent as well! Good service, nice, bright atmosphere make this place recommended! Pros: Authentic Thai, Nice selection, Nice decor Cons: limited parking more

great foood 8/15/2005

this is my favorite resturant... everything is great i love love this place!!!! more

Great tasting food! 7/27/2005

Recently remodeled to accommodate more people. Service was quick and courtesy. The food tasted excellent! I am not one for being adventurous on ethnic foods, but this was wonderful!! We were told the chefs are from Thailand! I went on a weekday for dinner and the place was packed. The prices are reasonable too! more

Just slightly above average! 10/21/2004

They own Thai Paradise also, but I think Thai Paradise is better in terms of taste and flavor. This location cooks too spicy which took away most of the flavor. But overall, the food, along with the service was okay. They need a renovation (which I think is currently in project) because there's only 4 parking spaces. Cons: , parking more

As hot as you want it 2/15/2003

President Thai has good food, reliably so, and one of the best things about it is that you can get it on a spicy scale from 1 - 10, with 10 actually being _too_ hot (I haven't really thought this before about food). I love going there and getting food at level 8, which has an excellent spicy flavor. Service there is also intimate and friendly. Pros: spicy food Cons: location more

Pasadena's best thai 9/29/2002

This is the best no frills thai restaurant around. Pres Thai really knows how to spice things up-- The first few times you come in you really have to convince them that you want it ""spicy"" because they have a policy not to take things back that you cant eat cause of the heat... The crying tiger BBQ, garlic pork, and curries are all awesome. Pros: Delivery, Spice more
