I chose Premium Mortgage because they promised a liberal "floatdown" policy, adjusting my rate downward if market rates fell during the application process. After I'd signed up and market rates fell, they told me that this was not their policy after all and I would not be getting the floatdown.
I did get the floatdown eventually, but only because I made a lot of visits to their office, making it clear that I'd keep coming back until I got satisfaction. I tried emailing Mike Donoghue, the head of the organization, but my email was totally ignored.
Since I had to go over there so often, I had ample opportunity to observe the generally unprofessional and cheesy atmosphere in the office. The receptionist pretty much always had people hanging around her desk chattering away about hairstyles or TV shows.
The rest of the process was mixed; with regard to letting me know what documents they needed, keeping me posted about deadlines, etc, they were sometimes very good and other times very bad. But overall, I certainly would not deal with Premium Mortgage again.
