Editorial review from Citysearch 6/20/2013

BEWARE! This is a bad place to get work done. Bait & switch on the price and after I drove away (angry) I could smell bubble gum! Looked down & it was all over the carpet and saw strings of it when I opened the door. I had seen the tech park my car & had noted that he didn't have the usual paper mat in his hand to throw away... and then forgot about it when i saw they had charged me $4 for an extra 1/2 qt of oil they said my car needed. Merchants & Meinike (sp?) never charged me extra!\r I Called them and they said they always used paper mats, no one there chewed gum & if I wanted to come back they would see if they could get the gum out! No, ""I'm sorry"" or ""gee that's terrible"" - just denials that they could have done anything wrong. \r I hope more people check these reviews - this place needs to be out of business! more

BEWARE! 1/14/2012

My husband took his Chrysler 300 to have the oil changed. The wrong oil filter was placed on the vehicle, my husband drove it for a while and it appeared to be fine, then the oil light came on. He checked the oil and found that there was no oil in the car. We then put oil in the car, checked the level and started it. All of the oil was blown out of the car onto the parking lot. We then had the car towed to our mechanic. That is when we found out that the wrong oil filter had been placed on the car. We were shown the difference between the oil filter that was on the car and the one that should have been placed on the car....WOW...not even sure how that mistake was made or how they even got it to stay in the car it was much smaller. The car appeared to run OK, we contacted Precision and after a month or so of trying to get someone to respond to our emails and phone calls they offered to refund the money that my husband paid them for the oil change, but refused to reimburse us for having the car towed to the mechanic or for the new bill at our mechanic. Sounds like somewhere you want to take you car, right? Well it gets better. A few months ago the engine started knocking (which our mechanic said that it may never knock from running without oil and it could start years down the road). We parked the car for a while (because we didn't think that Precision would ever own up to their mistake and fix it), then finally decided to attempt to get Precision to own up to their mistake. We, again, paid to have the car towed, this time to Precision because they said that they would look at the car and see if it was their mistake that caused the knocking. SURPRISE! They said that it was not because the engine was ran without oil, it was that the engine over heated. They are refusing to take care of their mistake. The car has NEVER overheated and if it did , it would have been due to the fact that the engine was ran without oil (due to the wrong oil filter being placed on the vehicle and the oil running out). I know that Precision Tune Auto Care is not going to take care of their mistake and that this post is not going to benefit me or my husband in anyway. I am writing this to make others aware that the people that they have working on your vehicles may or may not know what they are doing, and if something goes wrong they will not own up to their mistakes and make them right.
