Fantastic! 11/13/2011

We had a birthday party there and it was, hands down, the best party ever. WAY more fun and varied than similar themed party at The Little Gym. And the price was reasonable. The staff was super attentive and friendly. Lots of attention to safety, but they were still playful and fun. Great with kids. The facility is great: a zipline, ball pit, TWO trampolines, and inflatable, bouncy castle thing, lots of other apparatus to play on. more

Very disappointing. 6/29/2011

I am sorry to say that we have had a very negative experience at Powerplay and will not return. My child seemed to need some additional attention to his physical development (he is 20 months old and has always been timid in terms of climbing, jumping, etc.), so I was encouraged by the staff after our test class to enroll. From day one, I felt the class was too structured and more focused on completing an overly ambitious set of tasks than attending to the specific development goals of each child. I went from encouraging my child, to forcing him, to standing in the corner watching him wait by the door until it was time to leave; throughout the course, we received very little feedback, help or assistance from the staff. My child has actually regressed in this class, and I am sorry we ever attended. When I complained about this situation to the owner, I was told that they are not able to cater to the needs of one child. I never expected them to cater to the needs of my child over the needs of others, but yes, I did expect them to make a modicum of effort to find a way for him to be included in the class. They did not. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I would not recommend this class to anyone. more

Great Place for kids to have fun and get fit 6/30/2010

This establishment is convieniently located in Park Slope where there are many young children. Powerplay is easy to get to especially since it is on an avenue and you can't miss the huge blue awning and glass front.\r \r I heard about it from the mother of my daughter's classmate. Who recently visited the indoor playspace. It was great to know that this place actually picks your child up from school and takes them there for their after school program and homework help. I enrolled my child because I was very busy at the time.\r \r Soon I also enrolled my child in gymnastics where she has made very close friends. Which would have otherwise been hard for her to do because she is shy. My child has become very flexible and is in great shape. She is always willing to show off new tumbles and other tricks she learned at powerplay.\r \r Powerplay also has a great program for special children. They are given individual attention and are not neglected. \r \r The staff is small which causes waiting time at the front desk but trust me the small wait is worth it. Patience is a virtue.\r \r I think powerplay is great for children of all ages but I have not had time to try it out for myself yet. I can not wait to try out the rock climbing wall on the bottom floor.\r I also hear they are opening minigolf. Pros: Great programs where children actually enjoy working out Cons: Small staff causes it to be a bit dissorganized more

Worst customer service in park slope 12/8/2009

My wife and I signed up for the play space here for our son and purchased a pass for 10 visits. When purchasing the pass, they had told us that they had no system for tracking the playspace visits, and that we had to hold on to the card itself or the receipt. We should have known then that this was a disorganized and amateur operation. After going a couple of times in the first week, my wife misplaced the card on the way to the playspace (something any parent can understand happening). I ran over with the receipt but by then it was too late: The staff at playspace had told my wife very rudely that they do not track visits (despite the mandatory sign-in sheet) and that it was “just like a MetroCard”. They offered to give 2 complementary passes (even though the card had 8 left) and were unwilling to even look at the receipt which clearly showed that the card was purchased 6 days ago. If they could just have looked at the sign-in sheets they’d see that we’d only been there twice but they either 1) don’t keep track of the sign-in sheets or 2) don’t care enough to be bothered. We’ve been to pretty much every indoor playspace in Brooklyn and we’ve never had an experience with staff members that were so rude and inconsiderate. I’ve already thrown out the complementary passes as we won’t be going back there ever again. more

Avoid Power Play 5/14/2008

My daughter became terribly ill after going to Powerplay. The place is filthy and not cleaned on a daily basis. Just be careful. more
