I am sorry to say that we have had a very negative experience at Powerplay and will not return. My child seemed to need some additional attention to his physical development (he is 20 months old and has always been timid in terms of climbing, jumping, etc.), so I was encouraged by the staff after our test class to enroll. From day one, I felt the class was too structured and more focused on completing an overly ambitious set of tasks than attending to the specific development goals of each child. I went from encouraging my child, to forcing him, to standing in the corner watching him wait by the door until it was time to leave; throughout the course, we received very little feedback, help or assistance from the staff. My child has actually regressed in this class, and I am sorry we ever attended.
When I complained about this situation to the owner, I was told that they are not able to cater to the needs of one child. I never expected them to cater to the needs of my child over the needs of others, but yes, I did expect them to make a modicum of effort to find a way for him to be included in the class. They did not. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I would not recommend this class to anyone.
