Best Cat Care in the City!! 10/25/2009

Dr. Norsworthy has cared for Big Kitty & Sunny for over 12 years. We love the care we have received at Alamo Feline Health Center so much. The doctors are very qualified & up to date on the latest medical procedures. The professional staff provides a warm & friendly place for us to enjoy. Alamo Health Care Center also offers first class boarding facilities with wonderful care!! Big Kitty & Sunny's Mom Pros: Great Doctors & Staff Cons: No negative comments more

Better Than Any Other! 10/25/2009

Dr. Norsworthy takes care of all of our personal cats. Because I have been in cat rescue for more years than I would like to count, I have had direct dealings with many of the veterinarians in San Antonio. Alamo Feline Health Center is BY FAR the best I've ever encountered. I literally have a copy of THE FELINE PATIENT that I keep in my bedside table and consult on any topic cat-related. Its worn and discolored pages are testimony to what I think about Dr. Norsworthy's expertise because I consult it often. The staff at Alamo Feline Health Center have always been compassionate, engaged, knowledgable and pleasant to me. I trust Dr. Norsworthy with my feline family members! Pros: Norsworthy is on the cutting edge of feline health research Cons: None that I can think of more

The Cat's Meow! 10/25/2009

Enjoy knowing my cats' anxiety is lessened without having dogs around. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for and is competitive with others I've used. Ask questions and negotiate for what you want. They work with you. Love having EKG as part of routine physical. Might have saved the life of my first cat had I know about AFH - which is one reason I switched to Dr. Norsworthy, DVM. Can't get much better than having him recommended by a Vet Tech working at a different veterinary center. Desk staff has always been respectful and friendly. Love the call back to see how the animal(s) do after shots, etc. Techs seem to "care" about the animals they handle and my cats respond well. Recent experience with Dr. Anderson was reassuring and he has gained my trust to give me only what my cat(s) need. That's saying a lot in these tough economic times. Kudos all around ya'll. Pros: Cats only Cons: No low cost fees for strays/rescued cats more

The best in town or anywhere! 10/24/2009

I have been taking my kitties to the Alamo Feline Health Center for years and wouldn't take them anywhere else even when I moved and it wasn't so convenient any more. Dr. Norsworthy and his staff love cats and show it in the way they care for them. One of my kitties has a heart condition which was spotted very early by Dr. Norsworthy--I'm convinced I wouldn't have her if it wasn't for his care! I recommend his practice whenever I can. Pros: Dr. Norsworthy and his staff love kitties Cons: none more

These folks are GREAT! 10/24/2009

We have used Alamo Feline Health Ctr since we moved our 3 cats here 8 years ago. One of the cats had Megacolon and Dr. Norsworthy knew what to do and how to handle him. Our cats are part of our family and we appreciate the way the whole staff treats them---and us. When it came time to put the cat with Megacolon to sleep, Dr. Norsworthy was so kind, gentle and comforting. They continue to care for our other two cats, who are now 17 years old, and, of course, developing health problems. We wouldn't take them to any other doctors. All the staff talk to our babies and love on them and treat them like we do, and they care how they are. They even call to check on them a few days after a treatment or vaccination. We think the people at Alamo Feline Health Center are special. Pros: The whole staff is friendly and they care about cats! Cons: It's a long way from my home---but worth the drive. more

My Cats Give Norsworthy and His Staff 2 Paws Up! 10/24/2009

I totally recommend Alamo Feline Health Center for all your feline family members. Their knowledge and expertise will make sure your cat lives a long and healthy life. With our large cat family Alamo Feline Health Center is one of our best friends. Their loving care and advice is the best in town. The staff is friendly and helpful. The doctors are knowledgeable and have always treated my feline children with loving care. I have never had a problem getting an appointment during an emergency. The front desk always calls me with a smile to follow up and remind me about vaccinations and updates. Norsworthy is known as the best Cat Doctor for a reason :) Pros: Feline only and the best feline expert in the US Cons: Trying to get Muguma Taishi in his cat crate more

Cat Friendly, without a Doubt! 10/23/2009

The doctors and technicians at Alamo Feline Health Center exhibit their love for cats and treat both their owners and pets as family. I have been using this clinic for over 15 years and have never been disappointed by the doctors diagnosis or treatment of my five cats. When I have had occasion to board my cats while on vacation, they appeared to be happy and definitely healthy when I came to take them home. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone with a cat. Pros: Professional, very knowledgeable, kind and patient Cons: None more

The best vet in US 10/23/2009

Thanks to Dr. Norsworthy I still have four of my beautiful kitties alive and well. My oldest is 20 years old with advanced kidney failure. Dr. Norsworthy has given her treatment that has kept her comfortable for more than a year. He removed the colon from another of my cats (aged 14). Without the surgery she would have died painfully in a short time, but today you would never know she'd ever been sick. A third had severe liver problems, which he got her through with good health. At the present he is treating my most precious baby for lymphoma of the larynx. Without his care, I know he wouldn't survive very long. I don't know what I would do without this wonderful vet and his entire staff, which are just great. Last year I spent several months in San Angelo and used the services of two different vets there. They both know Dr. Northsworthy (one had been his classmate at A&M) and highly respect him. One of them referred to him as the best cat vet in all of the US. That's pretty high praise from a peer! If you think of your cat as a member of your family and want the best care there is for them, this is the only place to go. Pros: Everything! Cons: None more

Fantastic Vet! 10/23/2009

Alamo Feline Health Center has given my 5 cats, without exception, the best veterinary care of any place I have ever taken them - and we have lived in several states and been to other feline practices. Dr. Norsworthy has gone above and beyond in his care of my cats and two of my cats are alive today because of his expertise. I am so very grateful to him and highly recommend him to anyone with cats. My cats are members of our family and deserve the best of care - and Dr. Norsworthy provides just that! Thanks! Pros: Best veterinary practice Cons: none more

The Cat's Meow for health care 10/23/2009

We have lived in several places and used many vets. After some bad experiences with general vets, we have gone out of our way to find cat specialists. Dr. Norsworthy came highly recommended and he has demonstrated his superior talents on our cats several times. We will not see anyone else! Pros: Dr. Norsworthy is the best more

Can't find a better cat doc anywhere! 10/23/2009

I began going to Dr. Norsworthy soon after he opened his "cats only" clinic. I began going because my cat was misdiagnosed by another vet. Dr. Norsworthy's correct diagnosis gave me another year with my beloved Silk. I now have 7 stray cats, and although Alamo Feline is expensive, it is certainly less expensive than treating an incorrect diagnosis from another vet! Dr. N. literally wrote the textbook for vets on feline care and lectures on cats at vet conferences all over the world. Other vets and vet students from all over come to study with him. He is simply the best. Pros: Highly respected and competent vet Cons: for me, it is a bit far from home more

Exclusively FELINE 10/23/2009

Family moved from the northeast and was looking for a totally "feline" health center. I have found the entire staff to be exceedingly friendly and professional from the very beginning.. Our cat was housed for the first few days after the move...she received the food that we brought and we were even allowed to visit. I have never had a problem scheduling her visits and they are quick to notice when she needs and "update" or more dietary food. I highly recommend this staff Pros: friendly and professional more

top notch service 10/23/2009

We started using Acres North Animal HSP on referral from a close friend. When Dr. Norsworthy moved across the street to open Alamo Feline we moved with him. We have lived in San Antonio twelve years and Dr. Norsworthy is the only Vet we use for our cats. We even adopted one of our babies from them. The team there has been wonderful. We have boarded our guy's with them a number of times and never had a problem. The first time we had to leave one there for heath issues we were not only allowed to see where he was kept but encouraged to vist to help him cope and recover faster. When we moved to the far southside we considered changing health care providers, but uncomfortable in changing since they knew the staff there so well.We didn't want to stress our babies out. We now live about 40 miles from the clinic but feel the quality of care is worth the drive. Yes you can find less expensive care but you will get what you pay for. Dr. Norsworthy took a special interest in one of our cats that had a rare lung disease. We spent a lot of money to save this guy and asked Dr. N. if it was worth the cost and effort to save him. Dr. N told the hard truth all we could do was try or put him down. We decided to try and our miricle boy is still with us and doing just fine. Thanks for being there for us and our babies. I would recommend this clinic to all. Pros: bestcare and followup ever Cons: none, unless you count the drive from where we live more

San Antonio Feline Excellence 10/23/2009

When I moved here from New York, my Vet in NY HIGHLY recommended Dr. Nosworthy. She said I was so lucky to be near such an accomplished Vet. And she was right! I have been with Alamo Feline Health Center since 1998 and my four cats have had EXCELLENT care. Other vets do not have the expertise or updated procedures of Dr. Nosworthy (which can actually save time & money in the long run). IF YOU HAVE A CAT THAT YOU CARE ABOUT, ALAMO FELINE IS THE PLACE. There is a difference as you will experience. We, in San Antonio, are VERY lucky to have Dr. Nosworthy. I am in the Health Field and excellent patient care is hard to find for humans, but animal care at Alamo Feline excels anything I have seen. Pros: Best in San Antonio for Feline Expertise Cons: 15 Mile One Way Trip with 4 cats! more

Top-flight care 10/22/2009

Just had my precious 3 year old cat in for major surgery to remove one of her back legs. An enormous tumor had developed over the last two-three months making removal of her leg urgent to prevent the spread of the cancer. Dr. Norsworthy did the surgery two days after diagnosis and she came home the following day and was running around on her three good legs 3 days later. Her recovery has been amazing and I know that this is largely due to the excellent work by Dr. Norsworthy and his team. Thank you for saving my companion! Pros: Terrific recovery after major surgery more

Excellent Care 10/22/2009

This clinic was recommended to us by our vet in Indiana because he knew of Dr. Norsworthy's reputation as an expert in feline care. Our 6 cats have been taken care of by Dr. Norsworthy since we moved to San Antonio 2 years ago, and we couldn't be more pleased. The clinic is not exactly in our neighborhood, but the time it takes to get there is well worth it because of the care our cats receive. Dr. Norsworthy is very thorough and always takes time to answer all of our questions. His staff is friendly, courteous, and efficient. We have complete trust in Dr. Norsworthy's judgement and skill and feel very comfortable at this clinic. Pros: All Around Excellent Animal Clinic Cons: None more

Outstanding Care! 10/22/2009

I have taken my cats to Dr. Northsworthy and his team for over 10 years. I live about 30 miles outside of San Antonio but the drive is well worth it. My cats have always received excellent care in the office as well as the boarding facility. One of my cats developed a kidney infection and went into complete renal failure a few years ago. She was almost 18 years old and I loved her dearly. Dr. Norsworthy and his excellent staff saved her life then and gave me 7 more months with my sweet girl and I will be forever grateful for that additional time with her. I highly recommend this clinic to all cat owners. Pros: Feline specialist Cons: None more

Your Pet can Depend on A F H C for their health care 10/22/2009

I was referred to Dr Norsworthy 11 yrs ago, when my Tuffers had an undiagnosed ear problem. With surgury, the 1st of it's kind, Tuffers was healed. I have large cats who have always received the very best of care, from annual exams to boarding. I will always bring my Cats to Dr Norsworthy for all their Health care needs. You, Dr Norsworthy are very much appreciated. Tuffers & Skylers Mom Pros: Professional DVM, Tech and Office Staff Cons: Dogs can only dream of being treated so well more

I love this place!! 10/22/2009

I have two cats and I have taken tem to the AFHC for several years. The people at this clinic are caring and knowledgable. Twice I have had occasion to board my cats for a few days. I was able to enjoy my time away from San Antonio knowing that my pets were being well cared for. I am very grateful to Dr. Norsworthy and the other doctors and staff of the Alamo Feline Health Center. Pros: Best Veterinarians I have ever taken my cats to!!! more

The BEST darn Cat doctor! 10/22/2009

6 reasons to go to Alamo Feline Health Center (AFHC): 1. Dr. Gary Norsworthy is the top of the line, #1 cat specialist in veterinary medicine. He has helped my sisters 16 year old cat to live with kidney failure while continuing to be the princess she is. 2. Dr. Norsworthy cares for your cat almost as much as you do. He not only gave my new little "girl" necessary care, but he even held and petted her to comfort her when she was shaking from fear. (He is also a cat owner!) The compassion shown to me and my cats (I have 2) is beyond compare. My special needs kitty is treated with excellent care even at great sacrifice to himself and his staff. (He is a little agressive:~). 3. The staff at AFHC has NEVER failed to greet my husband, myself and my animals with a smile and words of GREAT comfort when needed. 4. His assistants are trained to deal with all kinds of cats and it shows! 5. The boarding is CLEAN, the staff is ATTENTIVE and they have even boarded my cats on short notice (a plus!). and the final reason to take your cat to AFHC? 6. If your cat could talk, he/she would tell you to take them to Alamo Feline Health Center. In a word...CATABULOUS! Pros: Specialized Kitty Care more
