Portland Plumbing and Drain 1/8/2010

I have used this company twice. the first time was an emergency, as all of my drains backed up. The second time was that I had a cracked toilet that needed replaced so decided to replace both and fix the faucet in the kitchen! This company was to have been here at 10:00 AM, they finally arrived at about 2:00 PM. They tried to charge me for noon till they got done about 18:30. This was yesterday, January 8, 2010. My daughter caught the problem with the time, I was not paying attention. When I checked today with the Oregon Construction contractors Board I found this company has no CCB license, and never has! They currently have 3 judgments against them. I am submitting a complaint to the CCB with copies of the receipts. This company is not licensed, and has no bonding insurance. If you use this company, BEWARE! It could cost you big money! Pros: Hard working employee Cons: Extremely late, and abusive to employee, sloppy work more

FYI 8/24/2009

We are buying a house, they came out to scope the line $125. (scope and cap replacement) He was 1 hour late for the first appointment. The owner said it need to be hydro jetted, snaked and Rootx to really see if there was anything to worry about. The owner quoted us $500 to $600 to do the above. The day he came for the cleaning he was 2hrs and 20 mins past his appointment time and called three times to say he was 20mins away. He used the excuse of a meeting, that he just forgot and that he went to the wrong address. Once there he said it would be $772 and not $500 $600. When questions by us as to why the bid changed he said he had done the numbers in his head, I asked him to not do the rootx as it was the additional $172. The agreement was for him to be paid out of escrow for this task. He said that would be fine but asked for my credit card as back up. I agreed as it only seemed fair if he had to wait till the deal was final that he have a back up should it fall through. As he told us stories of how he was not always paid out of escrow and lost money. I have an invoice that clearly states 9/15/09 for work done on 8/17/09. The card was processed on 8/21/09. It has been four days since this happened and guess what they charged my card for the $600, I spoke with the bank and thank goodness I have my invoice to show they took the money against our agreement if I choose to dispute the charge. I have felt very tricked by PPD, I was promised my card would not be processed before I was contacted. I phoned the PPD office line and his cell phone for four days. No one answered or returned my call until 10pm on 8/24/09. I just spoke with the owner (8/25/09)at first he blame others and said he I just didn't want to pay. I have no problems paying, my frustrations was he charged my card after an agreement on an invoice stated otherwise. Also know that just because you have it in writting you will have to fight for it.Having to wait five days is way too long to return a call. Steve took our money, nothing was worth this mess. This was the worst customer service. Pros: not one good thing came with them Cons: dishonest, dramatic, late, more

fit every plumbing stereotype in the book 1/1/2009

If you have a straight forward plumbing repair, these guys are probably fine. But if things are complicated (as they usually do when it comes to pluming)or problems arise, these guys will take advantage of the situation like no others. Also, be prepared for rates which rival a good attorney. more

Work was decent, but the service was poor 8/26/2008

When I called to set the appointment I let the plumber choose the time. He specifically told me the price ($125) to unclog my drain and assured me that it was a flat rate with no other charges. Once he arrived (20 Minutes late) he tried to tell my wife there was a $30 truck charge on top of the flat rate. After a few minutes he finally agreed to "waive" the $30 fee. He then tried to sell my wife on a preventative maintenance product that was designed for septic tanks. He did not even bother to ask is we were on sewer which we are. Once he got to work he fixed the issue in a reasonable amount of time. Due to him trying to change the price once on site and his attitude I would not recommend him. Pros: Seemed knowledgeable, decent quality Cons: Horible service, tried to change price once on site more
