I am an investigator, here are the facts. Pope & Associates was not investigated for Fraud. There are no "affiliate" companies. P&A was in business on the advice of an attorney whose advice turned out to be bad. Pope sued for malpractice and settled out of court. Pope never had a complaint up to this point. But, beware what you write. Pope will sue you for libel or slander if you cannot prove what you say. I would say "sabrinawiltshire" already has an issue. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WRITE. Pope is serious about his reputation and will sue you. (If he will sue an attorney, he will definitely sue you!) PS--Pope is not affiliated with Loan Secure, or any other company as has been posted elsewhere. Pros: Good Company Cons: Bad Advice more

Government Actions Agency: Description: On December the 5th, 2008 the California Department of Real Estate filed an Accusation against this company and several other related entities, and Paul Pope. The basis for the Accusation is that the business and licensees engaged in the business of an advance fee brokerage while providing loan modification services. These services were performed without submission to the Real Estate Commissioner at least ten days before using them as required by California Law. The Accusation seeks disciplinary action against all of the licenses, license rights of the Respondents, and all other relief as may be proper under applicable law. The matter is pending. Date of Action: 12/5/2008 Agency: Description: On December the 17th, 2008 the California Department of Real Estate issued an Order to Desist and Refrain against this company and several other related entities, and Paul Pope. The basis for the Order is that the business and licensees engaged in the business of an advance fee brokerage while providing loan modification services.
