Pool & Spa Depot

While our in-ground pool was installed well, the process was nearly unbearable. For background, I work for a large contractor building hospitals. Suffice it to say, this is not my first construction project. For ease of review, I am going to break down my comments to bullet points: Pro: * The on-site crews that worked on the project were great. Courteous, efficient, and clean. * The pool is great. The salt-water system is awesome. Glad they talked us into it. Con: * The P&S Project Manager NEVER visited out house to oversee the work. It was left to my wife to coordinate. * The contract included excavation. After the excavation started I was surprised to find that their version of excavation did not include handling the spoils (the material that comes out of the ground). That was our first unexpected $1500 charge. * The contract stated that we had to provide the stone, sand, concrete and portland cement. They would use these materials to build our pool. While the installers did use the sand and portland cement to create pool bottom, and the concrete to anchor the bottom of the pool walls, we were surprised their installation did not include backfilling the pool walls with the stone we purchased. More unexpected costs... * I have friends in the industry and chose to choose my own electrician and concrete contractor. For some reason the P&S Project Manager could not, or chose not to, coordinate his effort with theirs. It was a constant headache. * The slide we wanted was supposed to be a "lightly scratched show room model". What arrived was not just a little worn, but had holes drilled into it on the slide surface. It was pretty obvious that it was previously installed somewhere else and during the previous install, they ruined the slide. They were pretty irritated that my wife pointed out the obvious issues (which the on-site installer acknowledged) asked that it be taken back. After weeks of calls, we finally got a refund on the slide. * The PM for P&S got so frustrated that my wife would expect materials to be provided when promised, teams would arrive on time, and insist on being treated fairly that they actually asked that she not be allowed to talk to them anymore - they only wanted to deal with me. * Due to the fact we started the pool installation in late fall, the pool was not completed until the spring. We wanted and finally received a visit to guide us in the operation of the pool systems. We were surprised to receive a bill 6 months later seeking reimbursement for that "Start-Up Visit". After contacting them, we discovered that the PM was no longer working for P&S and they were trying to clean up his files. Thankfully they did not insist on payment after we explained our situation. In short, find some other firm to build your pool. more

Pool and Spa Depot has a reputation for being dishonest and rude. Sadly this rating forum allows for the vendor, in this case Pool and Spa Depot, to load the review space with five star ratings to compensate for the truth about how actual customers feel about dealing with that place. Its terrible. No one I have ever spoken to that has delt with that place has had anything nice to say. Once the money has exchanged hands you might as well not exist. They do not return phone calls. They will put you on hold until you give up and hang up. They will lie straight to your face about delivery times, product availability, price, installation, reputation. You name it. It is run by a group of people who thinks the general population is stupid and undeserving of respect. We are live stock to these people. Pigs with money and it is their mission to take as much of it from us as they can. Do not trust one thing they say. They hire bad contractors who are also rude and dishonest. They will tear up your yard. Fail to bring parts. Fail to show up or call. Wont fix whats wrong and then lie about the costs. They will blame you for breaking it and wont cover it as they say they will. Or they will replace things that dont need it to rise up the bill. My family bought...tried to buy... an in ground pool and a hot tub. We got some smooth snake who creeped us out and who smelled of booze giving us a long line of promises....all of them sounded just like all those five star reviews on this city search boloney. We will do this. you can expect that. It will be done on this day. We will incluude this as a bonus...and so on. All lies. We had to call about ten times before we could get the sales manager to even talk to us after we signed the contract and waited for the install day that passed by without a call from the store....a contract we were later told did not list all the promises that they made and free stuff they said was thrown in... so they didnt have to do any of it. And if we cancled the order we would only get part of our money back even if they had not started the job....or delivered the hot tub. No one is coming out to check on anything. No one is going to treat you right. They will forget your name as soon as the check clears. Your best bet is to go anywhere else or burn the money because that place is crooked and they dont care about anything but money. They should be shut down and run out of Nashville. You can bet that not one high rated review is from any real person. They all come from that store. The names in the 5 star reviews are the names of the people who will rip you off the most. You will regret going there. You will learn to hate that store as soon as you need their help with getting what you paid for delivered or repaired or installed. Its a joke. And its being played on all of us who made the mistake of shopping there. Stay away and teach them not to steal from people and lie about it. more

I am writing this letter to express how thrilled we are about our inground pool from Pool and Spa Depot. The process has been very quick and easy. Each of your crews were quick, efficient, and very helpful through construction. We never felt alone in this process. Each question or concern we had was taken care of by Bob B. Bob fielded each one of our numerous phone calls. He always had an answer to our questions. He even made a quick trip to our house when I had a concern about the pump that could not be addressed over the phone. Over all, we are so pleased with the experience of working with Pool and Spa Depot. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know. I feel confident that they will continue to support us through maintaining our beautiful swimming pool for years to come. more

Our experience with Pool & Spa Depot began 4-25. My husband and I came into showroom, not really sure of what we wanted. We began talking with a sales person (Shawn). He was very polite, professional, & knowledgeable. He began showing us all the options in pools. And after alot of debate on our part and alot of patience on Shawn's part we decided on a 14x28 inground pool. Shawn worked very hard to make sure that I was pleased. He was very patient while walking us through, and helping us make all the decisions and changes that made this the perfect pool for us. We were then introduced to Bob, who sat down with us and explained in detail the construction & installation process. He went over the order in which everything would take place. All materials required, and who's responsibility they were. Bob was just a phone call away during the entire process. He even came out and started the pool up for us, and answered any questions we had. Cody and his crew came out on Mon. June 1st and began excavation. Cody was awesome! He and the rest of the guys were polite and professional. And didn't totally wreck my yard. They worked hard to make sure the pool site was just the way we wanted it. more

I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone seeking a pool, spa, or, sauna. From the time I walked though the door, to the time I left, I was treated with utmost respect and professionalism from the sales associates. They made sure to find me a pool that would suite my specific needs and wants. I was filled full of knowledge and greatly appreciated that, as I had not owned a swimming pool previously. Every step in the installation was precise as well as smooth; my pool looks absolutely amazing, I couldn't ask for better customer service. Thank you so much pool and spa depot! more

Coley and crew showed up on Tues. Coley is also Awesome! What can I say, these guys were the Bomb. By the end of the day Tues we had our pool. They came back on Wed. and finished the small stuff. It all happened so quickly, and they did an excellent job! Any problems that came up, and they were very few and minor, were addressed and corrected very promptly. It's now a week later, the concrete is done, pools full and water feels great. My family is loving it already. Thanks to everyone at Pool & Spa Depot for making this such a pleasant experience for us. more

Incredible customer service. I was trying to get an old spa up and running, they walked me through the full setup and explained how to do everything even though I had not bought the spa from them. I bought some plumbing bits from them to get everything setup and they threw in some sealer and glue that I would need for free! Their stuff is expensive, but its the kind of place I don't mind overpaying just to make sure they stay in business forever. more

I was asked if I would be willing to share with you about how we felt about our recent experience with your store. In a world filled with so many negative experiences, its only fair to share a good one! Recently my husband and I visited your store and inquired about purchasing a pool for our family. Not knowing a thing about owning a pool or how to maintain one, we were greeted with very knowledgeable and friendly sales people. From the moment we entered your store we were never "pressured" to look at or buy anything. When we approached Mark Matthews, a sales associate, he was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We returned a week later to purchase our pool and we were treated the same as our first visit. And, when the installation process began we were very impressed with how smoothly everything went. Digging began on a Saturday morning and was completed before noon. The installation process began on the following Tuesday morning and was finished by noon on Wednesday. Bob Bomar, sales manager, even came to our home twice during this process. Everyone was so kind and willing to answer all questions we've had. We have been very pleased with our entire experience with your company and we thank you for making such a big purchase for our family so easy!! more

They delivered my spa and set it up for me. Nicest people I have ever dealt with. Guy called me and told me they would be there at 4pm, they were there at 3:55. Scott was so helpful, I rescheduled 4 times, he worked with me to have a late delivery. Will buy again. People can learn a lot about customer service from them. more

Our inground pool istall was recently completed. We enjoyed working w/Pool and Spa Depot, before, during, and after the process. Minus the weather delays, the installation went as planned. We were not looking forward to the process, but it turned out to be an enjoyable one, in part, due to good communication and highly skilled tradespeople. Neighbors in our custom-homes subd that started inground pool installs before us that chose another company are still not finished! We were enjoying our pool not even six weeks after breaking ground, while our neighbors are a year out and still dealing with construction. We did get other quotes when we were deciding on a company. After knowing what our neighbors were going through, we decided to go with a larger company. Plus, those that represented P & S were professional and knowledgeable. We have very high standards and expect professionalism. Every communication was handled promptly. Even now that we are finished with the install, communications are still being handled quickly and professionally. That speaks volumes. We will not hesitate to recommend Pool and Spa Depot to our friends. We are looking forward to our backyard fun. Job well done, Bob and crew! more

This place should get no stars, but one is requires. I waited a week for a hot tub repair. Then they send out the pool guy, who was on the phone the whole time getting instructions from they guy that should have come out. He could not fix the problem so the hot tub guy came the next day. What made me mad was I was charged for the second visit. And they charged tax on service, which they should not do. The cover I purchased from them 2 years ago is falling appart. When I contacted them about the service charge, I was ignored. And the first repairman could not even keep his pants up, he was wearing plaid boxers. Very unprofessional. more

Pool & Spa Depot is an incredibly large store that sells above ground pools, hot tubs, and patio furniture. During my search for patio furniture, I stopped at Pool & Spa Depot because I saw that they were having a 50% off sale on everything. The selection was pretty good, they don't carry anything too high end, but certainly more than Costco or Home Depot have in their home and garden sections. The selection of outdoor table and chair sets was great and many were made of wood and had a high quality feel to them, which is important because the chairs sit in the sun all day long. more

We have bought MANY things from Pool and Spa Depot and have been pleased with everything. We purchased a hot tub/Spa at our old house, with no problem, I have a wonderful tanning bed that has been going strong now for 6 years, and we just purchased a 24 foot above ground swimming pool. They are awesome, the service is unbeatable! Call and talk to Bob or Steve, and IF you have a problem Michelle or Brent would be happy to solve it, they work hard at making everyone happy, they have definatly made me a very happy customer, I will always shop here. You can not go wrong with Pool and Spa, they are the best and that is why I only shop with them. more
