My wife's car was towed while visiting my daughter at college because she didn't realize the guest pass she displayed was a weekend pass that did not cover weekdays. The egreg...

I am a 17 year old girl and I was not familiar with the area, I was going prom dress shopping with my friend and within 10 minutes my car was being towed away! The man said that there were signs everywhere that said I could not park there... however, there was only one sign that had something to do with private parking, bur it was very unclear and far away from the spot that I was in. Like I said im a 17 year old girl, and this guy made me run to the closest atm around Towson by myself, to withdrawal 125 dollars from my account. It is ridiculous and the biggest scam! more

I usually don't do this but I'm so outraged ****$240 CASH !! for 5min of walking a case of water to my daughters apt. Millennium hall should really hire a new company. Sunday's at 5;00pm they start. Really? that's when all the students are coming back from the weekend. Unbelievable... What a rip off company. I really think they stalk. And there so quick I saw him come back around for a second while I was waiting for my taxi to go to the impound lot. And.... he picked up another and and was behind the taxi that I was in. Disgrace. more

THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS - My Car was towed within 15 minutes of mine getting out of it, AND their tow trucks were already making another pass through the lot to see if there were any other cars to tow. $240. And who are they hurting - the local merchants because it makes consumers not want to go into Towson. They said the 'make the rounds' - no the stalk!! more

Pollards is the biggest joke in the entire world. They will try and take every little bit of money you have. My only tip for them is to get a life. Congrats your a tow man and everyone hates you..theres something to be proud of. My car was riged on the tow truck for 2 minutes...they didnt even have to time to leave and I was told that I had to pay $120 to get it removed. The man was rude but then again I would be too if I was only an uneducated loser tow man. more

THIS HAPPENED WITH ME SECOND TIME. I CAME HERE TO VISIT MY FRIEND AND THEY TOWED MY CAR AWAY. VERY VERY RUDE PEOPLE. HAD TO PAY 240. NOW AGAIN, I JUST CAME TO DROP MY NOTES OFF FOR HALF AN HOUR AND MY CAR WAS GONE. THE COURTHOUSE APARTMENTS HAVE NO VISITOR SPOTS AVAILABLE AND IF YOU PARK SOMEWHERE ELSE. THEY WILL TOW YOUR CAR AWAY. HOW CAN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX HAS JUST TWO OR THREE VISITORS SPOT AND THE TOWING COMPANY ALWAYS LOOKS FOR CARS. more

NO TIPPING 3/13/2012

THE OTHER NIGHT , I SLID OF THE ROAD. JUST ENOUGH TO GET HUNG UP. POLLARDS SHOWED UP, AND I THOUGHT GREAT, HE TOLD ME 100.00 CASH TO TOW THE CAR OUT, I WAS STUCK, SO WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO. I ONLY HAD 7 TENS ,AND 2 TWENTYS ON ME. AND OF COURSE HE TOOK ALL THE CASH I HAD, AND YES HE SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY CHANGE, PLUS I DON'T HAVE A RECEIPT TO EVEN GO BACK AFTER MY 10.00 BUCKS, IF THIS EVER HAPPENS AGAIN, AND I SEE POLLARDS COMING, I WILL SHOVE MY CAR INTO THE FEILD EVEN MORE, SO THEY DON'T STOP TO HELP ME , I CAN'T AFFORD IT more

Tim Pollards Towing 3/3/2012

Pollards towing and the people who work their are the most unethical, and uneducated people you will ever meet. I work for millennium hall, the people who are contracted with Pollards, and will be working to try and get a new contract with someone else. I got a call saying my father was in Icu in a hospital one hour away. Me not having a car, called a friend who lives about 45 minutes away to take me to see me dad. She drove down here and got out of the car to get the front desk to ask someone to contact me because my cell phone wasnt working. I come down and we go outside to see a guy named Tim towing her car. I ask Tim to please understand the situation, that she is my ride to see my father who is in critical condition, and Tim ask if I have 120 dollars. I ask him is that what my fathers Life is worth to him? He never shows an ounce of sympathy. A few people walked by and said Let them go, Tim could have let us go but him being the unethical person he is continued to Tow the car. I don't see how any person could be so heartless. Pollards is not an ethical buisness based of morality. But they prey on college students with no money. Towing is necessary, but towing someone who came to help someone see a hurt parent. Unacceptable, Tim is the worst human being i have ever encountered and I hope none of you have too deal with him. ( My father is recovering for those who wondered. He is doing better thank god.) more

Ripped off! 2/22/2012

I live in the colonies at Kenilworth. Pollards Towing is exactly 0.9 miles away. They made me pay $240. Someone was parked in my spot at my apartment so naturally I parked to the spot next to it. Having my parking pass on the rearview mirror I figured it wouldn't be a problem. I have lived here for three months so the girl should know my car by now. I'm not as mad at Pollards as I am with the situation. The man was very sweet, but $240 for less than a mile is OUTRAGEOUS. more

Good people 12/28/2011

On two occasions that I dealt with Pollards, I found them to be thoughtful. One time my car was towed from a lot because a owner called them. I explained my point to them and they gave me my car back with no cost. on another occasion my car broke down, they came to my rescue, dropped my car at Brooks Huff and gave me a ride home. Thanks!! more

Pollard's towing co. scam artist/racist 2/1/2011

SCAM ARTIST AND RACIST !!!\r \r After towing my car from a spot that was not properly signed as a tow away zone.. I had to pay a 220.00 fine to this company.. As we are pulling out of this company parking lot we were told to come back again FAGGOT'S!!! by one of there employees..\r They may get away with scaming people.. But they have no right to scream racist/hateful words such as this..\r What an outrage!!!\r more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! 3/14/2010

My car broke down on Towson Univ. campus, where i was a student, and I needed my car towed/fixed. Pollards was the closest towing company...Little did i know the fleecing that was to follow!\r \r They towed me and ""fixed"" my car..ie replaced the starter in my car at an inflated price ($650! for the towing and repair) and I literally drive the car for 15 miles before the starter went out again! When i called and attempted to plead my case i was met with am ""oh well those are the breaks!""...\r \r DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!! Pros: close to the University Cons: scam artists preying on TU students more

Predatory Towing Company 5/29/2009

16 year old daughter paid for 3 hour parking. Ticket expired 8:36pm for her work that ended 8:30pm. By the time she walked to the parking lot, the car had been impounded by Pollards Towing (no relation to author) noted pick-up at 8:50pm.\r \r Kid makes $30/weekend and this company imposed a $250 fine for a 14 minute overage on a three hour parking permit. Fine would have been more if I had not gotten the car that night. They obviousely lay in wait for the exact minute this ticket expired. Pure piracy. Pros: easy to reach on the phone Cons: predatory no excuse policy more

POLLARD'S PIRATES 5/16/2009

Pollards towed my truck for ""expired tags"". They don't work for the police, MVA, city, county anything. They are trolling for reasons they can get away with for towing people. Even the cop that came to the scene because we thought our truck was stolen said, yeah they get away with it, but I don't even know how legal it is. When I went to pick it up they never even asked for proof of renewed registration (which seems like that would be necessary if that's the reason for the towing to begin with) or even proof of ownership. Just give me the $220.00 in cash. What a freaking joke that these tools can go around stealing vehicles under some blanket of lies. I'm buying a tow truck so I can start scamming people out of $220.00 a pop. I hope they all die. Cons: EVERYTHING more
