I just saw a posting review - I was like wow.... That's the same attorney that handle my case over 7 years ago. He didn't file some sort of paper in my case and I've fought the good fight with the credit companies to place my HOME and my HELOC back on my credit report. 7 years plus have gone by now and I've never been late once on any payments (since day 1- I may add) After 2 months of phone calls it was brought to my attention that the debt was never re affirmed. and that the banks can not do a reaffirmation of debt at this time. I learned that the attorney in my case never filed that paper work when my case was presented. I called numerous times to their offices and wrote a letter requesting that he sends a letter to my creditors explaining the situation and for them to put back my home and 2nd mortgage back on my credit report. And as I read the other posts here - They are correct it took me like 2 weeks just to speak to him personally. And I felt like I was the attorney teaching him his mistake in my case and yet he still stated that he did everything correctly that the bank needs to provide this letter. After another week on the phone with numerous bank personnel they all stated that it was impossible to re-affirm or do a re-affirmation of debt letter at this time and this should of been done with my case file and registered with the county's clerks office etc.. etc.. I contacted the offices again and left messages and he never did return my call. I gave up after that. My home and helco till this day does not show up on my credit report as being paid off monthly. It shows up as part of my bankruptcy. (I even tried telling the bank well then I'm free and clear so I'll stop making the payments - the bank laughed and was like- you don't want to do that - we will foreclose on you.) James Alan Poe is a gutless, spinless cowerd, he backs down from major lawfirms, does not fight for you, WARNING if you hire this guy you will regret it, i have spent over $10.000.00 dollars with this guy and got no results, at the end he told me to contact my creditors and make payment arrangements with them after he took my money, See BBS and Attorney Board of complaints, SEE FOR YOUR SELF more

I was fortunate enough to be referred to Mr. Poe by a friend who used his services last year. Mr. Poe was so kind and compassionate to my situation. Mr. Poe was always available to answer my calls and I was able to meet with him for my initial consultation within 24 hours of my first call to his office. Fantastic! Mr. Poe has worked his fingers to the bone for me. I came to him with a lot of problems. I was unsure if I would be able to afford to hire an attorney and I explained this to him after telling him about my situation. He charged me a flat fee and has worked for a year for this fee. We've sorted through everything now and I feel good recommending him to others. I was recommended to him by a friend of mine and I will do the same. He is located near Dadeland mall and I used the metro rail to get to and from his office. Very simple and I didn't get stuck in traffic. On a few occasions Mr. Poe and a staff member stayed late to meet me when I ran late due to my work commitments. I definitely felt that I was in good hands. Thank you Mr. Poe. more

I HAVE RECENTLY COMPLETED MY BANKRUPCY PROCEDURE WITH LAW OFFICE OF JAMES A POE. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH BOTH SERVICE AND RESULT. THANKS TO MR POE I DID NOT LOSE MY HOME. I normally do not write reviews online, however, I felt as though I had to set the record straight in regards to the negative comment left for Mr. Poe and his firm. Mr. Poe and his staff treated me with so well during my entire bankruptcy process. If you know of anyone who has gone through the bankruptcy experience, it can be emotional, at best. Mr. Poe and his staff very so helpful and kind, I would recommend this firm to anyone in need of an excellent attorney. more

I never thought I would have to claim bankruptcy. If you asked friends and family they would say never in a million years. I was good about money, saving here and there. Then an illness changed everything. When it's your kid nothing else matters. My savings went faster than sand through your fingers- I borrowed money from my family. I used credit cards to pay for basic necessities and I was drowning in debt. Two years of this before I realized I couldn't go on like this. My phone was ringing constantly with bill collectors, I was receiving letters daily. Mr. Poe was very helpful to me. I came into his office on a friend's recommendation. I mentioned the family's name and right away he remembered them. We talked and he explained that this wasn't my fault. I felt such relief when he said this and looked over some information I supplied and told me I qualified for bankruptcy relief. I was nervous but the toughest part was gathering my paperwork. I just received notice that my case is over. I am grateful to Mr. Poe and his staff. (His office manager is hilarious and helped to lighten my mood) Now I plan on taking things one day at a time. Starting over may seem scary but to me it's a fresh start. One I needed and one that was made easier by this office. I am happy to recommend Mr. Poe if anyone should need to hear from me personally. I was loosing my home and was in a bad financial situation when I entered this law firm. The staff treated me with courtesy and respect. I was qualified and used their services, I am still in my home and debt free. Thank you Mr. Poe and staff, I could not asked for better treatment and service. more

The best way to describe this attorney and his staff...Incompetent, zero follow up, and some of the rudest staff I have ever encountered. You call with a question, you have to speak with 3 or 4 people, having to repeat yourself each time...Oh and getting an answer to what I would consider an easy question, forget it. But when your a bad attorney, I guess that's what you get when you can only pay minimum wage..? You have been warned. more
