Flavorful and Fast Thai Food 6/1/2006

Ambiance: Plearn doesn't look too special. The place is also very small and stuffy, so it isn't the place you would want to go in large groups. They have nice asian artwork on the wall. Food: I usually only get take out hear because I don't like eating in such tight quarters. The food is great tho. It is packed with flavor and nicely priced for the amount of food you get. Expect to spend around $7-$10. Their pad thai is really good. Service: They're not that friendly, but they are very fast. more

Ask anyone in Berkeley where to go for Thai food, and I bet you $10 (well, not really) that they'll direct you right to Plearn. I don't know what else to say. This place gets it right. The food is authentic and tasty, the service is good, the atmosphere is comfortable I haven't had anything that wasn't downright delicious. I like that that the servings are generous -- the leftovers give me fun lunches for days! more
