If you go to a restaurant because you believe that good service is part of the experience, don???t go to Plaza Mexico. Average food, terrible service. First, the water tasted like something was growing in it. Food took forever to get to us and our entrees for four people were brought out in waves over a ten-minute period. Also, I ordered the chimichanga because I wanted shredded beef and it was ground beef. After dinner when I complained about the timing of the food delivery, they offered 10% off a SINGLE entre! The when I told them I was disappointed in that offer, they offered another 80 cents off and then told me they don???t want customers like me. It???s a dirty little dive that should have that would be embarrassing if it was in any other neighborhood. Take your business elsewhere ??? the food is not that good to put up with service like that. more

The food is wonderful, the portions are large. I have never had a bad experience at Plaza Mexico. The only downside I can think of is the service is a little slow when they get busy but everywhere is like that more

As a Mexican American, I often find it difficult and frusterating to find some good Mexican food. Plaza Mexico is the best place that I have found in metro detroit, besides mexican town. Their tamales are so authentic, their chicken burritos are so juicy and flavorful, and their salsa is so fresh tasting. I also enjoy both their rice and beans, which is really the way to tell if your dining at a good mexican restuarant. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but from what I have had I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
