Best Spot in Queens! 3/19/2012

Besides having been here multiple times already myself, I recently convinced my parents into having my brother's 3rd b'day at Play. everyone, and I mean EVERYONE had a great time. The kids were running around everywhere with the ample amount of space, from the pool tables, to air hockey, to the ping pong tables, to the bowling alley and the best part of all the Mechanical Bull! The adults and the kids were all enjoying the party and the awesome activities this place has to offer. We've never had or been to a more successful party. Play is def the way to go for all types of events as well as enjoying the night out w/ some friends on the wkends! more

Good times 3/2/2012

I've been here a couple of times on different days because I'm always hearing of the different events they have to offer, mondays they have the best deal you won't get this deal anywhere else that's for sure! I believe from 8-1am you get a 5 hour open bar along with free bowling or pool all for about 25 dollars! And on thursdays its ladies nights which is always poppin haven't been there during the weekend yet but dnt see how it cldnt be better since its hot during the weekdays? Music is diverse hip hop, house, spanish, the food is good especially they're bbq wings!!! And the girls that work there seem to be pretty friendly and on top of they're game. more

Do not go there 9/17/2011

You can not apply the dress code to some and do not apply to others. I will never be returning to play. The bouncer are arrogant and racist with the management not being much better. I payed for bottle service and was still treated like a piece of trash. The short Hispanic man who was at the door was no better then the tall bouncer who called me a bitch. I ordered food and it took an hour for it to arrive. My frustration with play is the not the overpriced food or the frozen food its the arrogance of the management and staff, especially the bouncers. If you care to see racial profiling them be my guest and go to play but if not do yourself a favor and avoid it. more

cheats got ripped 10/26/2010

Please do not visit this place ever they are cheats literally. They sell discount coupons and say VISIT ANYTIME to bowl, play ping pong. But when you show up there they say they have rented it out to a private party and you should have called. No where have they mentioned about calling and booking in advance. SO basically they say you come at our convenience. People there are rude. SO it was like I payed and they rented it out and made profits and also were rude to me. I got ripped do not go here ever more

AWFUL 2/19/2010

NEVER again...$3 mandatory coat check, rude servers and hosts. The place was dead. Drinks were expensive. $21.50 for half-an-hour of pingpong, no exaggeration. As I was leaving, the bouncer handed me a flyer for another night. I said ""no thank you"" and he cursed me out until I was all the way down the block. Real classy. If you're looking for a lounge, it's worth another 10 minutes to go into the city. Cons: Rude, rude, rude, expensive, dead more

LOTS OF FUN!! 11/20/2009

This is one of the FEW places in Queens that you can actually spend an entire night at and not get bored. I was just there this past Saturday with my husband and some friends for the Pacquiao/Cotto boxing match and the vibe was awesome. The place was packed, there was so much energy and after the match was over, the DJ kept the energy alive by really kicking up the music. If you're used to the typical Queens bar, this place is not for you. It has more of a Manhattan feel without being pretentious. Pros: Ambiance, Music more

SAY NO TO THE PLAY LOUNGE IN ELMHURST NY 5/18/2009

I decided to celebrate my girlfreinds birthday at the Play Lounge. I thought it would be a great experience since I have been there once before and really enjoyed myself. We invited a couple of friends, but to my surprise every girl that was turned away looked like the stereotypical aggresive female even one that have been there several times before, they were given all types of excuses of why they were not allowed to enter the club from the wearing plain white shirts to their belt buckle(are you serious?). The spanish bouncer even lied and said that one of the girls that was allowed to come in cursed him out and was asked to leave which was a lie. If she cursed him out then why would he let her in. I have never experienced anything like this before in my life and what made it worse was the black bouncers was discriminating on their own. This has to stop. Please know that we are not stopping here, we're a reporting them to anyone that will listen, we are not bitter we know there are still ignorant people out there. I am going to make sure this never happens to anyone again. Cons: The bouncers discriminate against gay women more

Strong drinks, but, but watch your bill 3/9/2009

3 of use went there on a Saturday early-10pm, got a lounge area to ourselves. The atmosphere is great, music could be better, but drinks were strong-I'm still aliitle drunk after -8hrs so well worth the $10 a drink. They automatically include gratuity so pay close attention to your bill since they don't reund any card charges. Finding parking is hard, but in all I'd probably go again but with cash and ask for better music. more

Great Place to go in Queens 2/24/2009

I went with a group of my girlfriends on friday and loved the fact that there were a lot of different things to do. The place reminded me of Miami...Who ever designed this place did a great job. The music was very diverse and we danced and drank next to our tables all night. What a nice surprise...I will definitely come back... more

AVOID!!! 2/10/2009

Been here 3 times...and wow..there is always a fight, and the crowd is very immature. the whole staff seems to have anger problems... never again..... Pros: NON Cons: Fights...Staff...... more

use to be hot in my book but now its not 2/29/2008

This lounge use to be hot to me especially on Thursday nights. Me and my crew would alway come though. Last weekend I decided to bring my Girl there for the first time and the Door Manager wouldn't let her in because she had printed jeans on. so we went back to the car, good thing she had a extra pair. So she put them on, we came back and got in. Then yesterday we went to have fun and the same door manager just looked at her and told her she couldn't come in. we was never disrespectful to him and the way she was dressed there was no reason why we couldn't come in. He is against Aggressive females and more then one of there employed security guards told me that. which i think thats messed up. more

avoid on any night 3/15/2007

this place sure lives up to its name PLAYground, this is the worst 21 and up lounge/club i've ever visited, crowd is very young looking, dress code was defintley not enforced, i didnt know hoodys and fitted hats?? and a velvet rope at the door LOL cmon guys, drinks are overpriced, service is horrible, food is ehhhh, and do not come here for the music, i've never heard so much rap in one night, its not a crime to mix up the genres a bit, the bowling alley was cool though, Cons: full of cons more

great customer service 6/25/2006

very nice and beautiful I love it so much it is a veryhandsome place to dance hang out meet people nice crowd I really love it more

dont waste your time 5/2/2006

Our visit to this very pretentious pool hall was very disappointing, velet ropes in Queens, come on, you don't have a manhattan address. The music was horrendous, the food was average and the service was awful. more

Hottest Lounge in Queens 4/5/2006

Ive been here sooooo many times and the place never gets old. There's always something to do- i never went bowling until i played here because i always thought bowling joints were ugly and boring- Play takes bowling and Pool to the next level. The design of the place is off the hook. Also, they have an indoor smoking room which is rare and a retro pacman arcade. Definately worth going to at least once. Pros: Never gets boring, Parking Cons: Can get very crowded more

Inexpensive and fun 1/20/2006

My group and I arrived at Play around 9 o'clock and we had no trouble getting in, I was wearing jeans and sneakers along with the other fellas in the group. There is a velvet rope, which led me to believe that a certain dress code was in place but the bouncers said we were fine in our attire. Good music, good food, great drinks. Price for a beer was like $5 and food was like $7. Get there early for better selection of pool tables or any activity. There are only like 3 bowling lanes so the wait will be long. Service was fine and overall the place was pretty good! Also, if you want to play a board game or Uno, be advised that all the games are missing game pieces. Pros: Fun Atmosphere, Great for groups!, Cheaper than most Cons: Hardly any parking, Wait for activities, Lack of game pieces more

Definitely a place to check out 12/28/2005

Going to Queens is a journey, but well worth the trip. I went here when it was a piece of *blank* pool hall. They stepped their game up, renovated as they incorporated a bowling alley and the entire scenery looked more like a club. But a dress code at a pool hall? thats too much. but if u come in correct you'll have a good time. Suggested with a group rather than a date. but it aint bad that way either. Pros: great atmosphere, alot to do, smoking room Cons: eurotrash musicvideos, understaffed, dress code more
