Platinum Gym

i was so excited years back when this gym was renovated and bought with a new owner. but now i see it going downhill again!! equipment is broken again, gym is dirty, parking is crappy and staff is not nearly as friendly as before. tanning beds are old again and i just recently had a baby, but the babysitter is young with like 5 other babies (i could not leave my baby in there). sad to see it changing again...time to look for a new gym when my contract is up. more

I joined this gym and had a sudden job change 3 days later that forced me to relocate. I literally paid $64 for 2 workouts. I did not ask for the money back but only to be let out of my contract. I was denied by the manager, Linda, who was very rude, and the owner, Julie, who told me there was nothing she could do because "unfortunately we are under contract." She then hung up on me. They market themselves as a customer friendly "family owned business" but certainly act otherwise. Avoid this place. more

My main gripe here is the lack of customer service. The owners just seem like they are in it for the money. Anytime you ask them a question, it seems like you are intruding on them. All they ever seem to do is stand around and talk with their friends. One time my fiancee asked them for some information on a class and they told her she wouldn't fit in the class? How do they know that? I couldn't believe it. Unfortunately I signed up for a 1 year contract and they will not let you out of it, no matter how long a list of complaints you file against the services they promised you. My fiancee got laid off and we had to move. I even took my official address card from the post office and a utility bill to them to ask them to terminate my contract as I wouldn't be using the equipment. They simply refused to do so and proceeded to charge me for the remaining 8 months. Now I understand I signed a contract and businesses are in it to make money. But was it worth it for them to refuse to work with me when it ends up with me here on Google posting a negative review of them? How many customer's will that drive away? I saw the bad reviews on here before I joined too but decided to take a chance. I should have listened to them. As for the gym itself, I can't tell you how many times stuff wasn't working which meant longer lines to wait to get on the equipment. The free weights are fine. Most of the nautilus is ok. The floor is never kept clean and the bathrooms are cleaned it seems at the end of the night. I actually remember one time a toilet overflowed and the person who ended up cleaning it just used a dry mop to mop it up. They didn't even use bleach or any type of cleaning agent. Good thing I'm not a germphobe lol... I don't know. I'm not some disgruntled customer; this is my honest opinion after dealing with them. The 160 dollars isn't the end of my world. It's the principle of the matter and the hubris with which the owners refused to work with me on it. more

Some people do not know what they are talking about. The equipment is AWESOME, NEW, CLEAN and always working. SEE FOR YOURSELF. Customer service could not be better. I have never been in a gym where the owners were more caring than they are here. more

Terrible Experience!!! I thought this was going to be a nice gym but I was wrong. The membership contract is filled with fine print and they DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS! The equipment was out of date, dirty, and limited. I terminated my contract but they continued charging me anyway. When I finally got in contact with one of the owners she had a poor attitude and told me there was nothing she could do about it and repeated over and over that, "we do not do refunds even if it is our fault." more

This gym has been in business since 1989. It is a great local family fitness center. Everybody feels comfortable and no intimidation here. It just got bought by one of the employees who has been there forever...it finally is renovated. It looks great now and the people are so friendly. If you are looking for great atmosphere and good price, go check this gym out. I have been here for 10 years. more

Platinum Gym is a lot of fun. Very well laid out and organized, professional staff, very friendly. My friend goes there on regular basis and greatly enjoys the gym and the workout. The gym is open during convenient hours and it has a good range of equipment to offer. I have visited it once and if it was closer to home I would definitely consider joining it. more
