Great Kennel 12/4/2009

I asked my local vet for kennels as I was taking a quick trip. He suggested Plateau Kennels. I had never boarded my dog before, so I was a bit concerned for my Westie. She was there for 5 days and was happy as a clam when I picked up her. She was so excited to see me and no worse for wear! I had been forewarned that she might be out of sorts/tired for a few days after I brought her home, but she was perfectly fine. Jen was friendly and professional, giving me a quick synopsis of my dog's stay. I would definately return and will recommend Plateau Kennel to all. more

We LOVE Plateau Kennels AND the staff (especially the owner) 4/10/2009

From the 1st time I spoke with Jen (the owner) on the phone (after speaking to several other facilities), I felt this was the person I would want to care for my puppy, Lexi. Jen invited me over to see the kennels and let me ask numerous questions, all of which she graciously answered. After visiting with Jen I knew for sure Lexi would be well cared for by her, and her staff. You can tell immediately that Jen loves all (""of her"") dogs. Lexi is now almost 6 years old & is still going to Plateau Kennels for grooming (every 8 weeks, or so) & she has been boarded there several times also. I wouldn't want to take her anywhere else. Jen, her mom Janet (groomer), and the rest of the staff have ALWAYS been kind, caring & courteous. Lexi is happy going there; she leads the way down the brick path to the door of the kennel. I would reccomend Plateau Kennels to anyone who is looking for either a groomer and/or boarding for their pet. Fantastic home away from home for your beloved pets! 6/23/2008

I have been bringing my Lab to Plateau since she was 3 months old. Jen and her employees have never been anything but polite and genuine;u interested in my very energetic dog. She always comes home happy and tired from all the activity. I have also had the opportunity to board our 2 wacky cats here and they have also come home relaxed and well cared for. I have used kennels closer to my house but they have never had the interest in me and my dog that is present at Plateau. I have had the pleasure of recommending this kennel to many people who love it and have recommended it to others as well. \r \r One other fantastic thing about this kennel is that is recommended by vets. That should give anyone peace of mind that this is a facility that will care for your animals just as you do.\r \r I feel truly blessed that I have found such a wonderful home away from home for my wonderful 4 legged family members! I have been taking my dogs here for years ever since Jen started this business and couldn't be happier with the service and care. When you consider your dogs your family, it is scary leaving them with a stranger not knowing what will happen while you're not there. I cannot express enough how secure I feel leaving my dog with Jen. She treats all the animals as if they were her own and both my dogs loved her. I even had a dog that was sometimes slightly agressive and Jen never had a problem with him. She never made me feel like I had a ""bad dog"" - something I had experienced elsewhere. I never had trouble leaving them with her...the dogs clearly were secure and comfortable going there.\r \r The previous reviewer mentioned bad customer service...I can't believe she's talking about the same kennel. I never experienced that or witnessed it while around other customers. I have always found Jen to be friendly and professional. I know from experience that the kennel is usually full and reservations need to be made ahead of time. If the service was really that bad, I doubt the kennel would be full all the time. As far as having to walk far to get to the kennel...that sounds like sour grapes.\r \r I highly recommend this business. more

Reached a PLATEAU as far as service is concerned... 1/1/2008

...and unfortunately will never get any higher!! \r \r The only reason I wouldn't give them minus stars is because they at least feign interest in the dogs while you're there! \r \r I've used this kennel for awhile now and is seemingly a well run business as far as cleanliness, delivered services & pictures of all the dogs on the walls are concerned. As ironic as this may seem pretty much everything was in line EXCEPT for the continual bad service of what only given by the owner herself, JEN. In all my years in customer service I have to admit I've never quite come across as bad of customer service FROM THE OWNER ONLY. \r \r Out of sheer curiousity, I did return for dog services just to see if I was crazy - here are the last 3 times I was there: \r \r Asked ME (the customer) to call back 3 or 4 times when she's 'less busy' to make an appointment and then was obviously annoyed when I had to call back the 4th time to inquire about making an appointment. Wow....shouldn't it be the other way around??? Shouldn't you be calling me back as soon as possible and not hours later?! \r \r When the parking lot was full and then empties (all within 10 minutes) she DEMANDS, not ASKS that I move my car off of the saturated (where all the dogs go to the bathroom) brown grass that all of the dogs use because 'it ruins the grass'. Should of been an in and out 10 minutes while the dog's got their nails clipped and then my car would have been off the well kept grass! I shouldn't have to walk far away after just parking my car. \r \r The last time I took my dog there to get a bath - My dog for the first time seemed very skiddish to go to her to the point that it would have been obvious to anyone. Naturally, I tried to console my dog when JEN the OWNER grabbed the leash from my hand and rudely exclaimed 'I JUST NEED THE LEASH'. \r \r My neighbor also expressed to me the bad service again from just the owner so I think I've finally put the rest that it's time to find another kennel!!
