We can hardly believe this, but we are in escrow on our house within the first week. Chris and his crew fit us into their schedule and completely got our yard neatly pruned, trimmed, and mulched. Even in the midst of the dormant season, they were able to thin and keep a lot of green so that it didn't look bare. And Korina came out with the perfect addition of plants to welcome any visitor to the house. I think it really made a difference in the sale of our home. And the realtors said that everyone who came by wanted to linger. It is one thing we will miss most about leaving this home. We had a challenge to the various landscape designers we interviewed for our job in HB. We needed plantings that would have minimal impact on allergies, ease of maintenance and that would provide an oasis in our small tract home lot. Plant Nerd was the only firm that we found that honestly admitted they had not designed such a yard, but were intellectually curious about the prospect. We gave them our research, and they furthered that with their own and created an incredible new landscape for us. They methodically went through the design process, recommended a team of contractors, reviewed the work of all the subs, and did follow-up visits to see how the plantings were surviving. We live in Santa Ana near South Coast Plaza. We had both our front and back yards landscaped, including lighting. During the planning phase, Korina met with us and answered all of our questions so that we would be sure we were getting what we wanted. The landscape plans were very detailed, computer generated and gave us great views of what it would look like. Korina artistically designed our simple, small yard into a gorgeous native, California environment with a Pacific Northwest flair. We had an idea for making our yard native and/or drought tolerant. We happened upon the Plant Nerd and hit it off immediately. They totally designed and redid both our front and back yards. We now have a great DG path in the back and can easily handle 20 or more guests delighting in our landscaping and garden railroad. The plants out front have become a haven for hummingbirds and other small birds. No more grass watering, no more bi-weekly gardener fees. I can't say enough positive things about this company! I recommend them whenever possible. We have hired them for 2 different jobs, the front and back yards. They transformed our yard from dead and ugly to beautiful and private. We have a mid-century modern home and wanted a specific feel to our landscape. Our main goals were drought tolerant plants and to provide privacy. After a visit to our yard and a discussion of our wishlist, we were presented with a design plan detailing growth and maintenance. I didn't realize how little I knew about soil management. If you had the right ingredients in your soil you didn't have to use pesticides and always have to fertilize. They made a great design and educated me on what grows successfully in this area. We talked over what I wanted and picked out the plants and trees.We added stone walkways and a beautiful patio with the edge in stone. In stead of sprinklers we put in drip lines that save on water. They also installed lighting. I have a beautiful year round yard full of flowers. Something is always blooming. Very low maintenance. I didn?t like what I was seeing and terminated the job. I asked for a partial reimbursement of my down payment. I was informed that there would be no reimbursement.
