Unethical Recruiting 10/8/2010

A Plano Sports Authority coach has recruited players from existing teams in the Garland Soccer Association. Taking kids away from games with a team they are already signed up for leaves those recreational teams short of players harming many other kids who want to play soccer. This can lead to established teams facing forfeiting games or playing short handed. PSA will not send schedules to the other coaches or leagues with North Texas Soccer, nor will they work with other leagues to schedule games so the kids can play on their home teams and with them without conflicts. PSA teams engaging in this practice should be barred from playing in any other soccer events. Their coaches engaging in this dispicable conduct should be held accountable. Sorry PSA, but kids from Garland aren't playing on teams in their own home and school area. You are stealing players with the sole purpose of winning no matter the cost to everyone effected and it is dishonest, dirty and unethical. more

Good Organization, poor officials 7/7/2010

I have been coaching for a few years at PSA. There is one specific coach that has a lot of pull at the organization. Every time her team plays, her team gets the the calls. Not just against my teams, but every team they play against. The officials do not call the game, they call the teams. If a team is smaller they can do whatever. It is almost apparent that it is a mandate that smaller teams get to be more physical. After several years of seeing this played out, it is not good for the kids. Complaints to officials supervisors and PSA go unchecked. THis particular coach has even refused to shake heads of players that have fouled out, showing very poor sportsmanship. Again, complaints from other coaches and teams about her and the favoritism of the officiating towards her teams has gone unchecked. Pros: Good Kids Cons: Bad for kids when officiating is bad more
