Pizza King

I am going to be blunt... Pizza King has the best pizza in Pittsburgh, hands down. I don't care about how friendly someone is, if my pizza tastes like garbage, his sweet voice isn't going to make my pizza any better. The staff there is great, busy as heck (because their pizza is awesome) but they are great guys. YOU WANT AMAZING PIZZA?? EAT PIZZA KING!! You want a hug, call Papa John's. more

I order a pizza they tell me 25 minutes .... 30 minutes later they are putting the pizza in the oven. I would never order pizza there again. The workers are filthy looking as well as the shop. I would skip this one and go some where we they actually understand customer service. more

Pizza King opened 40+ years ago on Whitaker Way and moved to its current Main Street location in the early 1970s. It is a small carryout and delivery only shop. The pizza is square cut with fresh handmade sauce and crust. The sauce has a fresh crisp taste of spices, garlic, and tomatoes and contains chunks of tomatoes. The cheese is a delicious blend of mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan. The crust is fresh and varies in thickness from thin to medium. Pizza King pizza is available by the slice or by 16 piece whole pie. The price is very reasonable. Because the components are made in house there is some variation in flavor and texture at times. Pizza King has been around for over 30 years, and is a classic Burgh style pizza...not thin, not thick, crunchy square ""cuts"" in a big rectangular pan. PK's is unique, a tomato rich sauce lightly spiced, and loaded with chunks of tomatoes. Rich, buttery cheese of the best quality on a crispy, crunchy dough crust made in house daily, not shipped in from corporate warehouse. Buy a whole pie, eat a couple of cuts in the car, get the rest 'half baked'. Inexpensive too! Traditional toppings available, not a fancy trendy pizza, but the best for years!
