Really Different, really good 10/3/2006

I have eaten Pizza all around the country;Thin crust in NYC, thick/pan in Chicago. I have even indulged in the argument of white vs. red in Old Forge. ( for the uninitiated, that is another argument.) But Pizza by Pappas On North Washington AVe near Linden St in Scranton stands alone. It is a small thick crust pizza, loaded with a unique combination of cheeses. It has a good not great sauce, can be a bit greasy ( people DO mop the grease off the top with napkins), yet the sum is greater than the parts. It is not for everyone, but I do believe that if you want to do the NorthEast PA Pizza tour apopriately, you must stop at Pappas. I recommend it MOST highly. more

Not a big fan 11/15/2005

Pappas Pizza has been around forever. Just about everyone who has lived here for any amount of time has tried their pizza. Eh....it's ok. The pizza is small, round and greasy. I would eat there if I had to, but it definitely would not be my first choice. They do, of course, have hoagies and grinders if you would like something different. more

Pizza by Pappas 8/16/2005

Tucked into the parking garage on the corner of Washington Ave and Linden St in Scranton are a few businesses. The most important of those is Pizza by Pappas. After trying pizza in many locations, this establishment stays in my top five spots to grab a slice. While the trays are small, the prices are low. Stop in ASAP for some of the best pizza in PA. more
