Pizza at its finest. 7/17/2008

I usually don't eat pizza too often but with all the rave reviews I had to see what all the hype was about. Pizza Antica makes unbelievably fantastic pizza. I've never had thin-crust pizza this good. The mushroom pizza is to die for! For appetizers, I highly recommend the fried artichokes. Also, Pizza Antica officially serves the best caesar salad I have ever had. The lettuce is chilled and tastes fresh enough to have been straight from the garden. The salad isn't over dressed and the croutons bring a buttery taste to the salad, I love it. Surprisingly Pizza Antica also offers quite an impressive winelist. more

Average that shouldn't be average 3/4/2008

I've often enjoyed dinner at Pizza Antica in the past. It has a good and lively atmosphere, and normally friendly waiters and hostesses. However, the quality of food has gone down hill in the past year. Dishes that I used to enjoy in the past seem to lack quality of ingredients and preparation. I used to enjoy the caesar salad, but recently, the lettuce has been wilted or unfresh on several occations. The pizza and pasta used to fill my mouth with flavor. Again, these days, several of the dishes seem extraordinarily bland. It just seems like this location has lost a lot of what it used to have over the past year. I used to visit this restaurant very frequently. I've stopped going now, opting for other restaurants in Santana Row that have maintained their quality. Pros: Good and lively atmoshere Cons: Food quality has declined, ingredients not fresh, dishes bland more

Simply... Fabulous! 11/1/2007

I love Pizza Antica. My parents are from out of state and everytime they visit my mother will not leave without going! She gets some pizza w/ broccoli and its always really good! The pepperoni is popular everytime. I always get the chicken ceasar piadini... mmmmm.... I wish i still lived nearby I would be there now. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing dinner- this isnt it. The food takees awhile, and its always crowded (I usually opt for lunch time!), and its a ver casual setting... but with food that good its worth it! Its the only pizza I will eat outside of Chicago! Pros: The FOOD! Cons: the wait more

Great PIzza 8/31/2007

No minuses for hasty service and long waits since that is to be expected from Santana Row restaurants. The pizza is amazing. A nice, light, thin crust. The signiture pizza's are unique. The pear, Mt Tam and sweet garlic is awesome. But the crust, sauce and cheese are so good that just about any topping goes well on the pies. The starters and salads are usually good too. more

Good food but kids portions at high price 5/11/2007

I've been to Pizza Antica few times, hoping to find better portions sizes and service without an attitude(or less of it).But looks like they just don't want to change that. Pros: Good food Cons: Price-portions sizes, service more

Good food great service 2/12/2007

I grew up in Italy and am quite picky in Italian food in the States, but I admit that Pizza Antica comes as close as I have seen to the real deal. This is a good thin crust pizza, crispy crust and tastey toppings. . . and with their prices, it's indeed a bargain. Pros: You will have a minimum wait tiem of 15 to 20 minutes unless you egt there right before closing Cons: the food and the price. This is oen unpretentious place serving plain good food. more

decent pizza, but i've had better 1/15/2007

The decor is fine, and the pizza was okay, but I next time I'll go across the street to the food court at the mall. The gnocchi was horrible - it LOOKED AND TASTED like tater tots with thousand island dressing. If I were to go back, I would never try the pasta here again. Pros: good service and decor Cons: gnocchi more

Great food, nice place 12/1/2006

I agree that the hosts do have some attitude, and they never miss a chance to put it on display. however, the food is out of th world, very affordable and the atmosphere really good. we have had several of their pizzas and dishes. their gnocchi is to die for... dont miss it if you go there. great wine list / drinks menu. Pros: Great food, good drinks, nice ambience, good service Cons: some attitude more

Pizza with attitude 11/22/2006

Very good pizza. I haven't had much else here but I like their selection of pizzas and have tried most of them. The atmosphere is nice and relatively relaxed for a busy place. The service is generally good. The hosts can have a little bit of an attitude but this is Santana Row... I think that's a prerequisite. Parking is... well, this is Santana Row. more

Not Worth the Wait 11/11/2006

1 hour and 15 minutes after being told it would be a 35 minute wait, my dining companion and I were finally seated. Although the staff was friendly, the restaurant has a rushed feel that does not create a relaxed dining experience. The minestrone-like soup was good. However when the waitress warned us that #4 pizza with portabello mushrooms and sausage had no sauce, I had no idea that what she really meant was it is a dry thin crust pizza without much in the way of toppings. Not a bad restaurant, but definitely not worth the wait and for what you do get, prices should be less. Pros: soup, friendly staff Cons: dry pizza, long long wait to get in the door more

Best Mussels!! 8/11/2006

My friend and I really enjoyed our dinner. I know its a pizza place but when I see mussels on the menue I just have to get them. Pros: The place is cheerful and clean Cons: kind of noisy more

LOVE IT! 8/3/2006

I absolutely love this place. Right in the heart of Santana Row and the food is amazing. I go there every time I'm in town and I've never been disappointed with the food or service. If you're looking for traditional NY style pizza or that thick crust stuff with traditional toppings, you probably won't like this place. But if you're into super thin crust pizza with a variety of gourmet toppings, you simply cannot go wrong. Pros: incredible pizza, good service, heart of Santana Row Cons: long wait more

Good pizza and friendly staff 7/26/2006

The pizza was good, that was to be expected from the other reviews, but they must have been reading Citysearch because the service was pretty good. We even requested a table move after being seated and were accomodated even though the restaurant was slightly busy. They do not accept reservations, but do take calls about 30 minutes ahead of time to get your name in. Pros: Pizza, bruschetta (sp?) Cons: Lack of formal reservations, beer selection more

Fine food. Bad service 11/19/2005

I went there with my boyfriend two weeks ago for lunch. I asked for a table for two and the waitress was really rude, and only smile to some people. There is no place to wait for a table. The food was just average. Pros: Place to eat Cons: crowded, bad service more
