Nice and hot 7/14/2011

I had heard a few things about this place and advertised at the pirate on FTL beach. The bartender gave us free water taxi passes. The boat ride was nice because all the houses were lit up for x-mas. We got there late on a weekend night so the place was pretty busy. We got a few appetizers to munch at the downstairs bar area first before the drinking started. We had wings, french clams and the spicy shrimp. It was served fast, nice and hot (good because I was starving) and the waitress was friendly, checking on us often. We then went upstairs to the two bars there and watched the band. The bartenders seemed to be having fun which flowed on to the customers. It was overall a "good vibe" place. more

A good meal 7/12/2011

I live right around the corner from this place and had read some of the early reviews and was hesitant to go but last week before attending Wicked at the Broward Center, a friend and i gave it a try. To my delight the food was really fresh and delicious. I went back this week with another friend and we both agreed that the food was great! We found the service to be friendly and attentive and will definately spread the word aroudn the neighborhood that we have a good place to go and relax by the water and enjoy a good meal. more

Leave pretense at the door and enjoy 6/21/2011

The Pirate Republic is a fantastic balance of fun, casual atmosphere and authentic, fresh food. With three bars, riverfront seating, boat dock space, a pool table, a swimming pool, and two live maccaws, this place is the recipe for a good time. The seafood is delicious and the burgers are awesome. There's a little bit for anyone and everyone. Leave pretense at the door and enjoy. more

Will definitely come back! 6/13/2011

When I saw the review by the " Inside Ft Lauderdale" writer I had second thoughts but decided to give it a chance. the fact is it was a good meal, we had burger and Grouper sandwich, enjoyed the river front dining and later sat at the upstairs bar for a drink. The service was typical for a busy place and I didn't feel ignored at all. I will definitely go back, maybe the IFL writer should give it a second review. more
