The best filet mignon, awesome bbq ribs 3/26/2008

Wow! This was better than I thought it would be. We went with friends and kids to dinner. The kids ran around, danced in front of the band and had a great time. My spouse had a filet which was perfectly rare and nice and juicy. I had the ribs, spicy and tender - yum! Our friends had grilled chicken - which was surprisingly good and a giant cheeseburger which he said was delicious. We split the giant brownie dessert - it was to die for, really fudgy. The microbrewed beer hefeweizen? was nice. I'm not a beer drinker but that was good. We missed out on the patio - it wasn't open yet but sitting inside was fine. I would definitely go back! Pros: really great steaks, yummy dessert, good microbrews Cons: NONE more

Worst SteakHouse-Pinnacle Peak 12/14/2006

This is THE worst steakhouse I've ever been to! My BF & I attended a business party there last weekend, and our steaks were approximately 1/4 inch thick (I may be exagerating, possibly 1/16 in. thick) & resembled beef jerky (the woman across from us was served an almost raw steak! (which would of been preferable to ours)), the baked potatoes were luke warm (butter wouldn't melt), and salad was served with Italian dressing whether you liked it or not (slightly warm & soggy) !!!!! I'm from the midwest & KNOW a good steak ... this was not it! VERY inconsistant food, poor/to non-existant service & I'd never tell a friend or aquanitance to go there (enemys ONLY... AND WE WILL NEVER go there again (even for free))... .....better off to fire up your own grill or broiler & put on a filet or rob-eye & enjoy at home !! Pros: NONE Cons: BAD Food, poor service.. need I go on ? more

A favorite place to eat 1/12/2006

`Being from Pittsburgh, PA, we can't wait to make our yearly trek to Scottsdale and the first place we go after checking in at the resort is to Pinnacle Peaks!! A yearly tradition of ours for 15 years, we look forward all year to the mouth watering steaks, awesome cowboy beans and the fun we have while being there. The food is terrific, the staff is tremendous and it is our favorite place to dine while we are there. We have recommended it to friends and family who have also gone there and gave the same review!! Keep up the great work!! We'll be seeing you real soon! Pros: Food, Price, Location Cons: none more

Great Place For Families 6/6/2005

My kids loved the whole evening. My finicky eater polished off an entire rack of ribs - they were so tender! We went with friends and after dinner the kids ran themselves silly on the dance floor. Also, I have never had a better filet mignon - it was excellent! The band was surprisingly good too. Pros: live music, kid friendly more

Fun ambience for kids! 4/23/2005

I don't have kids, but am like one. My bf's friend took us there when we visited Scottsdale. I had a hankering for ribs and this place satisfied it. I should've gotten the ribs and chicken combo, because I had a bite of my bf's chicken and it was a great. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was good and the desserts were a great way to top off the meal. Kids would have a great time looking at all the stuff in that place, from police badges, to all sorts of different locks and keys to all the ties hanging overhead. Pros: Good parking more

Good feeling and good food. 1/13/2003

Food was good and service good also. Nostaglia and history the most important part of trip. Saw lots and lots of interesting ties and business cards along with many photos of famous visitors from long ago. After reading some of the previous negative reviews we had lowered our expectations. PPP did better than what some of the bad reviews had said. It was a good steak and the staff was courteous and fun. The apple pie, brownie deserts were great! Would take out of town company there again. more

Don't wear a tie!! 8/9/2002

Pinnacle Peak Patio is hidden away on a long winding road but worth the hunt!! The inside dinning area walls are covered with business cards and the ceiling is covered with ties, cutten off of "cityfolk" guests. At the patio you eat the juiciest, tender steaks at picnic tables and dance by the stage under the stars. **** Pros: Atmosphere, Excellent food, Good value Cons: Difficult to find more

The real thing! 7/17/2002

Pinnacle Peak Patio, located at the base of "Pinnacle Peak" in Scottsdale, is the real thing, not the one in Tucson. This is the best place to go for a great steak and country-western atmosphere. We have always enjoyed the food and had a great time here. Pros: live music, great view more

  • In Short
For more than four decades, this rustic steakhouse nestled in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains is still the No. 1 destination for tourists hungry for a slice of the Wild West. The atmosphere is enhanced with live country-western music and sawdust-covered floors. This larger-than-life beef barn seats 1,000 people on the patio alone, so expect to find crowds and to share your picnic table with strangers. Try the two-pound mesquite-grilled porterhouse and the hickory-smoked chicken with cowboy beans and thick-cut bread. Wash it all down with a seasonal microbrew from Pinnacle's brewery.
