Great Atmosphere 3/12/2010

We were in town for a show at Proctor's theatre and went to Pinhead's after the show...great atmoshere and comfortable seating. The McDonald family (very nice people) that own Pinhead's, makes you feel comfortable when you walk in the door. Menu included the basic bar food with a homemade touch and they made it easy to let us make substitutions for our family requests. Food was served fast and our drinks were ice cold. We would defintely recommend visiting Pinhead's and will eat there agin when in town Pros: Very good food and variety of beer more

Casual Irish Pub 8/27/2007

My wife, daughter, and I went to Pinhead Susan's for an early dinner last. We arrived at about 5:30 on a Monday night. The place was almost empty, so it was fairly quiet, but I can see how it could get loud with lots of people. The decor is a nice combination of brick, wood, and old photos and knick-knacks. My wife and I had burgers with Irish Fries (french fries made with sweet potatoes), my daughter (8 yr. old) had grilled cheese with bacon (anything is better with bacon). Both the food and service were very good. ..... A feature that some might consider an annoyance is that Pinhead's is adjacent to the rail road tracks. While we were there (about an hour) one passenger train and two freight trains came through. You could really feel the rumble of the locomotives, but the noise from the train wasn't very bad. Pros: Very nice atmopsphere Cons: Could get loud more

Good food 8/31/2006

Though it can and does get might busy here, the Irish fries are worth the wait. If you havn't tried deep fried sweet potatoes (irish fries) you should. Pinheads often has Block Parties with live music etc. It is a great time especially the St Patty's Day one. if you are Irish at all make the trip and be sure to check out the food; for a pub it is great. Pros: great food at good price, nice interior decor Cons: can get too loud to hear companion more

Editorial
  • The Scene
A traditional Irish pub whose name is derived from a nearby graffiti-covered bridge that for years proclaimed to area traffic: "Susan is a Pinhead." This neighborhood spot, opened in summer 2000, is geared toward the 30-and-over crowd. There's upscale pub grub and a cozy seat at the wood-finished bar for sports-watching while sampling a pint or two.

    The Draw

True to its ties to the Emerald Isle, Pinhead Susan's offers Irish-imports Harp and Guinness on tap, a house-specialty red ale and generous servings of reasonably priced wine and spirits. No stop here would be complete without trying a few of the menu's unique touches. Enjoy the savory Guinness burger with a side order of Irish (sweet potato) fries.
