Conveniently located just 18 miles west of downtown Denver, Pines at Genesee is a great wedding venue that sits on a beautiful hillside in the Rocky Mountain foothills. With two outdoor ceremony sites and 12,000 feet spread out over two floors for receptions it can meet many couples desires for an all-in-one wedding location.
As with many other venues, we would recommend getting ready off-site for your wedding day. The spaces are pretty small if it comes to needing multiple people in the room during the getting ready process. There are many hotels to choose from just a couple miles away at the base of the foothills.
Ceremonies are typically held outside at either the Aspen Terrace or Evergreen Terrace. Both locations are surrounded by stately trees that shade you and your guests from the sun on a hot summer day. They both have a forest of trees as the backdrop to the altar area, which makes a great backdrop for your ceremony photos. The Aspen Terrace seats 275 and the Evergreen Terrace seats 180.
The altar is the typical location for family photos after the ceremony. After that we love to make good use of the green hillside pasture that is between the ceremony terrace's and the main building. The long grasses and the trees dotting the hillside make a great location for all your wedding party and couple photos. It definitely gives your wedding photography the ""Colorado"" feel that couples are looking for when they select Pines at Genesee.
The main ballroom area on the top floor of the Pines at Genesee has a wall of glass windows that give you picturesque views of the flatlands below. Their are also a couple other rooms on the top floor that are used for food stations and for a bar. One of the great things about the top floor is that it is almost impossible for the space to feel crowded. You even have plenty of room for the dance floor once the after dinner festivities get started.
The bottom floor isn't quite as big as the top floor, but still has ample space for many weddings. It features a beautiful fireplace at the center and it is essentially one very long room with some extra width built out on one end. This is typically where all the food is served and the dance floor resides for all the dancing that is planned. The space tends to feel a little more crowded than the upstairs because of the narrowness of the room.
