One bad experience after another 3/29/2011

First off they are only open till 3pm, so if you expect to need care later than that, look elsewhere. As others have stated, the staff there is rude. I have been there three times. Each time I am 5-10 minutes early for my appointment. They didn't have a sign in sheet at the window so I would stand there for about 5 minutes, while the staff on the other side of the window went about their business pretending I didn't exist until they finally slid the window open and handed me a clipboard to sign. Once I showed up 10 minutes early for a 9:30 appointment. As I was waiting a man showed up at 9:50 for his 9:00 appointment. He was taken at 10:00 while I waited till 10:15. In other words, don't bother showing up on time, you'll be treated sooner if you're late. The last straw for me was when I called at 9am to make an appointment the day after I'd been in a car accident. They told me the person who scheduled appointments was unavailable and they'd call me back. At 10:30am I called again. They said the doctor would check his messages and get back to me at 11:30. At 12:30 I called again explaining that I've been waiting and nobody is getting back to me. They said that Dr. Lowry got my message and said to take 3 Motrin. That was it. I asked if I could see the doctor or schedule an appointment and they said ""no"". I asked why not and they said that it's normal to be in pain after an accident so I don't need to see a doctor. Needless to say I changed my PCP immediately after that phone call. I recommend finding a doctor that actually cares about patients. more

The true meaning of FAMILY Practice 2/10/2010

I love that this office doesnt treat me or my family like just another dollar sign. When I check in they know me by name! They are always able to offer me an appointment the day I call if someone in my family is sick. We really are treated like family there and I know they are making Dr Paul proud, he was my pediatrician and has been the doctor to every person in my family even my grandparents and now my children! They keep the small town feel that many of us who grew up here love so much about this town!! Thank you to Dr Lee Ann for carrying on your dad's legacy and thank you Carol for teaching your staff how to really treat patients. Pros: staff knows patients by name more

Pine Street Family Practice 2/5/2010

I've been a patient there for about 4 years. I know alot of the staff very well and would bet money that that's not what was said. If you had a problem why not speak to an office manager? I know those girls work very hard to help the patients at Pine Street and would never speak to any patient like that even if she/he were rude rude rude! maybe the office is lucky not to have you! I also see you have something against Dr. Melish office it seems to me that maybe it's not the doctor's office but maybe you are the problem! It seems like their is no pleasing you. How do you know that you get charged 40 dollars for not canceling 24 hrs notice? did you set up an appointment even after the staff was so RUDE? makes no sence to me. By the way next time you want to use someones name in a review you might want to know who you spoke to and not think you spoke to someone! Pros: Everything more

THE ASSISTING STAFF ARE UNDOUBTEDLY IN YOUR BUSINESS 2/2/2010

Me: ""Hi, Id like to make an appt""\r THEM: ""OK WHY""\r Me: ""Well i keep getting these migraines that don't go away, and Ive been laid up in bed for 3 days with this""\r THEM: ""Well do yuo have a headache now?""\r Me: ""No not at the moment""\r THEM: ""OH well then why are you even making an appointment""\r Me: ""Does it really matter to you?""\r THEM: ""Well we need to let the doctor know why your coming in""\r Me: ""Tell them i am SICK""\r THEM: ""I dont understand why your making an appt then if theres nothing wrong with you""\r Me: ""THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME THAT ID LIKE TO DISCUSS WITH MY DOCTOR""\r THEM: ""call back and make an appt when you are having your migraines""\r Me: FORGET IT NEVERMIND\r \r CLICK\r \r That Convo was as annoying to type as it was hearing what they were saying to me. I think I spoke to that REbecca Girl RUDE RUDE RUDE\r \r You call them to make an appt. and they ask you WHATS WRONG with you, you give them a brief answer (headaches, sinuses, flu symptoms, etc.) and they KEEP asking you questions, rudely, and then they tell you that you CAN make an appointment but if you DONT keep you appointment they will charge you $40... WTF to be honest, what difference does it make? I just want to make an appointment \r \r JUST FOR THE RECORD, I am a new patient there, and NEVER missed an appointment...I will not go back there\r \r I think that is EXTREMELY inappropriate when you call them and you have to hear an earful about keeping appointments with them. Pros: i cant think of any Cons: everything about their practice more

good people 11/24/2009

I hope you are noticing the dates that the last posts were entered. I am sure many of the people in the front office are different from the people that were spoken about in the bad reviews! I can personally say that I find the staff to be courteous at the window most every time. The medical assistants are very kind and I can tell that they truly care about the well-being of the patients. I have had a great experience with all doctors in the practice. Pros: great medical assistants more

the worst office staff ever 8/31/2009

the office has no personality.they refeer everything to the computer they don't even look you in the face. i self pay one visit 85 dollars . next visit 120 spent less time with doctor .had problems with anxiety doctor reffered me to a psytchiatrist. never felt this bad after going to a new doctor no personality they talk to the computer not to you. Cons: problems speaking with doctor over the phone more

read the other reviews and have to agree 3/30/2009

I am a patient there and not sure why. I have had several visits under not so normal conditions. I am not one to go to the dr for minor issues, therefore because of that when I do go ...It hought it was because of that reason...but to be honest they arent very cordial, short and sweet by far and act like they are doing you a favor. I am not sure why the attending drs there dont see or say anything but it is shame that a practice of there magnatude doesnt get better assistance Pros: wonderful drs.. Cons: cold, rude and not very customer skilled more

Staff Attitudes are Poor at best 9/20/2008

Very rude staff. Dr. Lowry is awesome, been a patient there for years but his front office staff could definitely use sensitivity training. Each patient is different and has different needs and should be treated as such. Probably going to switch to a new physicians office because of this. Pros: Physicians are great Cons: Office staff needs HELP! more

Good Practice Convenient Location 4/9/2008

While the staff help leaves a little warmth to be desired...the practice itself is good and 2/3 of the doctors on staff exceptional. Sometimes you can't have it all but in the case of Pine Street Family Practice- it is a cut above the rest in Williamstown. Pros: Dr Lowry & Dr Reilly Cons: Staff needs happy pills more

Wonderful Physicians 11/29/2007

I have had nothing but fine service at Pine Street. I'm not sure what happened to jimtrimble, but I find it hard to believe. He could also use spell check before he writes a review. Pros: Everything was very professional. more

medical knowlege satisfactory but bad attitudes 8/7/2007

I have been going to Pine Street family practice for over 3 years and have finaly made the decision to switch.\r I usually see Dr. Laury who is awesome. his bedside manner is impeccible and he is thorough in his diagnostics. I take no issue with him at all and have actually stayed this long because of him. \r My major gripe is with the women at the front desk. \r They are in general short and rude. At first I chalked it up to the stress of a demanding job but after they made a grave error with sensitive information I started to get a little uneasy. When confronted about the issue I was told defensively and rudely that it was ""taken care of.""\r There was no apology made . no explanation. \r \r I recently saw Dr. Van Hauton and felt like I was more of a nuissance then a patient.\r She was defensive when I aksed questions about my condition and a bully when it came to questioning. \r I feel like a doctor should take the tiem to help a patient understand what is going on with their body , not simply crank them through the system. \r When I relayed information passed on to me by a friend in the medical profession she openly insulted that person and made derogatory comments as to their training and knowledge that well went beyond a casual comment. \r This seems entirely unprofessional to me. \r \r I am a fairly relaxed person , Im not maliscious. I dont wish them any ill will but after giving the benefit of \r the doubt several times over I can honestly say that their customer service skills are seriously lacking. \r I never recieved botched medical care but their paper handling is careless and could poetntialy serve them a big fat law suit for major HIPPA violations if they dont get a firmer grip. \r \r Its one thing to be disorganized its anoteh rto be flat out insulting. \r Most of teh otehr reviews are pretty positive and it may be that I have caught them on off days but I wont go bacj there again. Pros: good medicine Cons: bad attitudes, unprofessional more
