Its sad to see one of my favorite restaurants drop so dramatically. In the 15 years I've been their customer, English has always been a challenge, but that's what gave Pico de Gallo its charm. It wasn't a riverwalk tourist trap. It was an authentic mex-mex (not tex-mex) place.\r

This week I attempted to arrange a party of 20+ guests, and at the last minute was informed that a 'deposit' of $3 per guest would be required. OK, no big deal. But they weren't asking for a deposit to hold the reservation, they were asking for a surcharge of $3 per guest just for the privilege of showing up. This seemed very odd, so I asked for the general manager, Ramon, to call me. My call was not returned. I called the next day, and my call was not returned. Ditto the third day.\r
