Best

I have come here for years and know both current and former owners. The menu is awesome, and it's a fun...

Worst

Once we arrived, we got our table pretty quick, considering it was a Friday night. At first the service was good, but then it got worse minute by minute. Our sangria barely had an...

Just as good, but closer 7/25/2004

Must try: the clams, the gambas shrimp and both paellaes. The clams in the white wine sauce is to die for. The only problem is the portions are small so we ended up ordering 3 portions. The seafood paella is a little sweeter than the traditional paella but just as good. The traditional paella is one of the best I've had in the area. the rest: the spanish tortilla is good but the serving is extremely small compared to the big piece you get at Picaro's in SF. It's not worth getting unless you really crave it. The chicken corquettes are good and worth trying. The stuffed peppers are tiny! They are good but def. not worth the price. The potato bravo isn't very special. Don't get it. The tapas size stew chicken is delic and actually a good deal considering the amount of chicken you get. Pros: great food, only tapas in SJ Cons: , small potions more

The paella was excellent! It was so full of flavor I plan to bring my friends. The tapas portions could be a little larger for the price; although they were delicious. Pros: food full of flavor, authentic Cons: , small tapas portions more

Great Paella & Sangria 5/28/2004

You must come to this place and have their Sangria with Spanish Paella. I must admit that I thought the Paella was a little dry at first but compared to others, this place has a great Paella. The restaurant is quite small so you might want to make reservations first. Service is a little slow but its was a Friday night. Its also a little hard to find so but look for the Washington Mutual on Santa Clara and its right across the street from it. Its a little on the expensive side for Paella and tapas but I would recommend to try it. Pros: great food Cons: , slightly expensive more

Fairly average tapas 5/5/2004

The service can be hit and miss. The food too. We had excellent chicken soup here and really horrible chorizo. There are much better tapas resturants in the area. Pros: Good ambiance Cons: , Average food more

Friendly owners and great service 5/15/2003

The owner was really nice and talked to us and spent time asking us questions. We had the seafood paella and the mushroom sautee for an appetizer and it was great. The mimosa was very tasty. The waiter was friendly and attentive. more

Non-commercialized Tapas 4/14/2003

Picasso has a very mom-and-pop feel to it. The Sangria is delish and the tapas has an authentic originality to it. I thought the prices were a bit on the high side compared to other places. The restauraunt is small and decorated with Picasso art. Service was extremely slow, but it was a busy night. The managers were very nice and made sure we were having a good time. Pros: Sangria, Authenticity, Friendly Cons: Small = long wait, prices more

I love this place 3/21/2003

Amazing selection of everything here. This is a combination of everything great about all the tapas places in SF. But the best thing is the service. Warm, friendly, and they know whether they should be talk and 'hang out' (i.e. when you're alone), be extra respectful (when you're on a date), or just be quick to serve and impress (when you're casually dining). Not too fancy.. it feels like you're walking into a friendly uncle's dining room and appreciating the hospitality. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Hours more

not elegant but cozy & comfy 7/17/2002

Picassos is a tiny, cozy place for non-pretentious types. The food is excellent, and it is quiet enought to hold a conversation. I recommend it for real foodies. This is NOT Applebees or Chilies or some other crappy chain! Pros: music on weekends, fun owner, great food Cons: , menus tattered, parking difficult more
