This Chinese Crusine place offers such small plates! The food is expensive and we expected big tasty plates, but we got the exact opposite. The lunch specials are SO much smaller...

Try it! 9/14/2006

Their specialty is their shredded chicken tossed with spices served cold. You will not go wrong with any dish you order on the menu. My advice is just give it a try. Their plain porridge is really good. Don't let the description 'plain' fool you, it has lots of flavor. You can pair it with chinses donut. Next door is their food boutique and they sell traditional chinese desserts, jello (not very good, but don't let me stop you from trying it), herbal drinks (for those of you who eat too much fried foods), fruity drinks, and some chinese pastries located where the cashier is. Phoenix also established from express restaurants. I think there are 4 Phoenix restaurants on Valley including the boutique and the express restaurants. There is also one in Arcadia. I believe their main restaurant still exist in Chinatown. Pros: Food Cons: None really, I mean it is a typical chinese restaurant where you can't compare to and American Restaurant where waiters are assigned to tables. more

Old Fashioned Chinese Cuisine 2/18/2004

Unlike many Hong Kong Style seafood restaurants in the San Gabriel valley, Phoenix Inn offers down-to-earth old fashioned or even nostalgic Cantonese cuisine. The term ""home-made"" food does not carry the same weight in Chinese as in American. Chinese usually consider restaurant food is of better quality. However, if there were such thing as ""home-made"" Chinese cuisine, Phoenix Inn is offering that. Their food is like what mom used to make but in a more refined or delicate manner. It is definitely a lot better than those non-distinguishable ""me-too"" seafood places. Pros: Nostalgic food more

TRY THEIR DRINKS 10/21/2002

They have a wide variety of desserts and drinks that are unlike anything I have ever seen or tasted. There was a fruit mixed slush that was extremely refreshing. The food is not bad either. more
