Not the way it used to be 4/22/2014

Seems the place has gotten away from actors and is focusing mostly on models of these days. I have done several commercials in the last few months and I'm still waiting to get paid Janis has become impossible to get ahold of or she just doesn't email you back. I have been with them for over 15 years I believe it's time to find a new agent. more

Watch out!!! 7/24/2013

Watch out for any agency that charges money for joining a website or doesnt come across as professional. I went in for an interview after applying three weeks ago. There was an issue when I came in. First off I don't picture an agent being a college kid wearing shorts and a T-Shirt I mean yeah we all start somewhere but a legit agent I think would be a bit older and have experience. In the Interview I was asked to pay 159 dollars for a website but that I joined through them it would be 127 that was the first red flag when you are in the business to make money not lose money its get suspicious. Very smart what they are doing but it will catch up to them. I found out they are not sanctioned by the SAG or AFTRA. When you sign with an agency that is not part of those two words thats a problem. Also looking at their site it was so slow I would never sign up for that and pay that much money to get access. Lastly My pictures weren't good enough okay that's fine I sent him better ones via email the whole day never got back to me 18 hours and counting. I had a feeling He wasn't even going to submit me to calls until I paid 159 which won't happen. other reviews people praise them but I ask them how much did you fork out. Because no agency is ever going to charge like this one does. A real agent will never ask for money they see you and invest in you as potential actor or model. They will do everything to help you succeed because that's how they get paid. So I am running for the woods the choice is yours but do your research before ever forking out money!!! or going with this agency. My advice becareful. Do your research I talked to numerous people about it and I also professional agents and their advice was basic smart scam but run for the woods. www.sagaftra.com This shows that they are not part of the SAG-AFTRA more

a waste of time and bad career choice 7/6/2013

July 2013 I have been with Phoenix a little over 2 years. I have lots of on camera experience as an actor and top notch training from top level actors. I have not got a single audition thru this agency. Oh sure, I got an audition from a nice casting director who submitted me herself, and Phoenix notified me of a cattle call public notice type of casting call. I could have procured those myself without a talent agent. The contract between us states that they will make best efforts to procure engagements. But they have done nothing. If they wont do anything for someone who is a well trained actor with lots of experience, they wont do for you. It not only screws me over, but the local industry as well who is looking for talent to place in their productions. Stay away from this agency. Pathetic. more

great job with this agency 8/26/2010

I have been with the Phoenix Agency for one year now and I honestly never expected to get so much exposure. My headshot is also on the “Talent Street” website. It was only two weeks after I joined that I got a really great job. I was part of the Advertising Campaign for the New Mexico Lottery and I had full size billboards of me all over the state of New Mexico. That was only the beginning of the jobs that I have received working with them. I really do feel that they work hard for me. I am so very glad that I decided to choose the Phoenix Agency; they have done a great job! more

Already 2 movies 8/4/2010

signed up my two sons only 8 weeks ago and they have already done two movies. We did have to get headshots before hand but every other agency I went to asked for the same. I am excited we were booked so quickly. I hope to get more! more

Worked with film crews 5/13/2010

In my two short years here I've had the pleasure of working on both film crews as a Stand-In and Photo Double, in films such as Observe & Report and My One & Only, as well as in front of the camera in the Independent films Grim Facade and Deckhunters, as well as a recently filmed episode of the TV series Crash(#206.). more

Awesome agency 3/4/2010

I moved to New Mexico two years ago and in that time Ive seen a state that has sacrificed to sustain a thriving Film & TV Industry. Among the contributions made to the Film Industry have been the states contribution of millions of dollars made toward two large film studios, including the finished ABQ Studios. Large film incentives have shown that this state intends that the Film industry has a reliable, long-term and professional location for the Film & TV industry for years to come.? more

awesome 3/3/2010

I have been with The Phoenix Agency going on twenty years now, and I haven't aged a day since! Seriously, being involved with Phoenix has shown to me that they are professional and positive, comparable to 'big city' agencies. I know this to be true because of the fact that I've lived in; Los Angeles, NYC, and Scottsdale throughout this time span all the while working in the 'Biz.' Each and every time I've returned home to NM, Janice has immediately acquired auditions for me. I had taken a leave of absence in 2004 for personal issues. When I decided to jump back in,(June of '09), I felt I needed a fresh start and went with a supposed hotshot agent in Santa Fe. BAD DECISION! For three months not a darn call. Nada! The very day that I went back to The Phoenix Agency, wham, audition and national commercial. Need I say more? Marc Voltura? more

Fun! 2/23/2010

I think it is really fun to go to auditions and be in movies and commercials. I never knew exactly how much work goes into making these events until I was there! When I first saw myself on Talent Street, I felt really special. I think it makes it easier for casting agents to narrow the search for the right person? more

Great market 2/9/2010

I was introduced to the Phoenix Agency in a very bizarre way. I was working at a Jamaican Restaurant, as a manager. I get a call one day in reference to a black male with dreadlocks needed for a photo shoot for Red Stripe Beer. I'm bald and not Jamaican, the caller asked me to come to a casting call anyway. I agreed and the client wanted me, so we did it. Very, very, very nervous. I did not want to embarrass the Phoenix Agency, or myself. Funny thing was that I was leaving a few weeks later for a month in Jamaica when the Phoenix Agency called, asking me to meet with them. I went in, they made me feel great, they were honest, sincere, and willing to help anyway they could. We did my photos, they gave me pointers and told me always relax and have fun with it. They also market their talent on a great website "Talent Street more

very impressed 2/9/2010

We have been with the Phoenix Agency for five years. Not only has it been great fun being behind the scenes in making commercials and movies, it's been a learning experience also. My children do not fear public speaking and can apply this to school projects and events. They have learned life lessons in regard to auditions; they do their best and understand that it is not personal when they are not chosen. The Phoenix Agency, the kids and myself are a team. The Phoenix Agency keeps us informed of auditions and uses the Internet to promote us. I squeeze time, drive the kids to every audition and the kids look cute and do their thing! When I first heard about Talent Street, I was impressed because it was immediately obvious that anyone looking for talent would have a quick and convenient way to find my kids! (smile) I would say that our team is definitely competitive in the 21" century! more

fun! 2/5/2010

The thing I like most about acting is the fun - how you can have fun and get to know people. Sometimes you get to do funny lines and there's always lots of good food. Not to mention the money. I like being on the Internet. It helps people to find the perfect actress, AKA ME more

Been with them for 2 years 2/3/2010

I've been with The Phoenix Agency for about two years now, it's been wonderful! My first thoughts were, "I don't think I have what it takes". But I've been working and going to auditions since and there is never a dull moment when you're working. The whole process fascinates me. It's like a roller coaster ride, you're nervous to get on but once you do you don't want to get off. And let me tell you the money is not bad either! The family I took my five kids to The Phoenix Agency in hopes that they would want to sign them up. They not only signed up the kids but they brought me along for the ride. The ride has not only been exciting and thrilling, but it has given us the opportunity to learn how interesting and fascinating the business really is. There is never a dull moment when you're working, the whole process is intriguing. We have even worked together as a family, now that's fun!!!! Combined we have done television commercials, print, and movies. We were even flown out of town for a television commercial and treated like stars! If I had to do this all over again, I would have signed up with Talent Street earlier! more

A+ 1/25/2010

How The Phoenix Agency has changed my life." I had spent thousands of dollars trying to promote myself, when I ran into someone in New York who suggested that I get in touch with Chris at The Phoenix Agency. So far I received national commercials, a principal part in a SAG movie, a billboard, and the list goes on. I believe that the Internet is a great way to advertise yourself. It also gives the casting agencies the opportunity to narrow down who they are looking for. So you're not wasting their time or yours. I'ma busy mother and I work over 40 hours a week as a Demand Manager, so I don't have a lot of time to waste. To date, I've received 90% of the jobs I've auditioned for, I believe this has a lot to do with the fact that I'm with an agency that promotes its talent through the internet? more

Guys are great 1/20/2010

I have been with The Phoenix Agency for one year. I have never dealt with a company who has worked harder for me than The Phoenix Agency and their staff. I receive constant calls for auditions. These guys are the best more

Very Happy 1/13/2010

I looked at every agency in Albuquerque. The Phoenix Agency impressed me most by their honesty, professionalism and kindness. Although I was new to the business, they helped me get started. This year I’ve had more auditions and acted in more commercials than the previous years. Being represented by an agency that showcases its talent on the internet has been a great boost in my career. Thank you to the Phoenix Agency Staff... you’re the greatest more

Representation is good 1/13/2010

I am an actor in the Dallas market, but originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I fly home to see my family often and thought that having an agent in the New Mexico market would be a good idea. So, I met with Christine form The Phoenix Agency and they agreed to represent me. The agency called a couple times for auditions, but nothing too big. But, then in February I received a call to tell me that my headshot was chosen off the web site to come audition for a documentary on The Learning Channel. I jumped at the chance to book this job and was so excited to find that my picture was chosen from so many. To make a long story short, I booked the job, was flown in to shoot for three days and I will be on television this summer. I have to thank The Phoenix Agency for helping me get noticed for this part more

Awesome 1/5/2010

In 1985 I became a Talent with the Phoenix Agency. Since that time I have had countless auditions and quite a bit of work. Over these many years I’ve done Television Commercials, Local and National Print Ads, Billboards, Voice-overs and Documentaries to name a few. I am almost 80 years old now and crediting my success to consistent marketing. I never take this business personally. Learning early on that clients have a specific look in mind; sometimes I just don’t have the look they’ve envisioned. I keep a good attitude and go to as many auditions as I can. My Agency has my photos being marketed on “Talent Street” now. This excites me; I know it is the most expedient way to be marketed in the twentieth century. Clients can log on to “Talent Street” and view my composite almost immediately. I’ll keep working in this industry as long as my body will let me. I never had any theatre ambitions, but I sure find Modeling to be a profitable adventure more

Place for kids too 12/23/2009

Friends and family have always told me how cute my children are. I decided to begin a wonderful relationship with the Phoenix Agency, with my two daughters and one son. Why not give it a try, see if the kids can get some good jobs? The journey has been incredible and one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my children... and them making “big bucks” in the process. They’ve done both local and national commercials over the years. The kids like the local commercials because all their friends see them on TV. National commercials are the favorites though; even at a young age they know which pays the most. There have been long periods between calls, months with nothing. Then of course, we’ll go on vacation and miss some “great” casting. We know the calls will come, so we hang in there. The kids know that sometimes the Clients are not booking their age range or they’re not the look for that specific casting. I’ve taught them not to take things personal, especially in this industry. When I was asked to put the kids on “Talent Street” I was ready... I know the Internet is the future. It just makes sense that our hard working Agency would want the best marketing tool for their talent. more
