Phoenicia

It was my dinner party last Saturday July 19th and I had almost 50 guest. The phone calls continue to come in with friends and family commenting on how much fun they had and how good the food was!\r \r The food was ready to be served by 7:00 p.m. as promised. I requested that they wait until about 7:30.\r Family and friends were commenting about how much food continued to be served at their table, and how it was much more than they could eat. So many of the guest were also commenting on how very kind and accommodating the servers and the owner were. This was one of the main reason I returned to Phoenicia. Many of my guest were presenting the hosts with many individual payments and as overwhelming as that was, they graciously accommodated to the best of their ability and I very much appreciated that!\r \r We are still talking about, HOW MUCH FUN the experience was! Only a few of my friends and family are middle eastern, and the rest of us are mixed American/Latin etc. but ""almost everybody"" got out on the dance floor and we had a ball! The belly dancer show started at 11 p.m. as scheduled,,,and if the band started a few minutes late, trust me, we didn't even notice because we were tearing up the dance floor and enjoying ourselves way too much! Thank you, to all my friends and family for the Love and Joy you brought to the celebration and to Phoenicia staff for creating such a Wonderfully memorable evening! more

It meant so much to see her closest and dearest friends and family sharing together in this joyful celebration. I have just returned from The Phoenicia. What a horrible experience. I attended a birthday party where I paid $43.00 for just some cold appetizers. Arriving promptly at 7 p.m., the time I was told dinner would be served, we waited for almost one hour before an array of unimpressive, cold appetizers were delivered to our tables. At about 9 p.m., a waiter picked up the dishes and silverware and informed us that shish kabobs would be delivered shortly. At 9:40 p.m. the same appetizers that were first delivered to us at 8 p.m., were again placed atop our table. The waiter explained that some people in our party, who were scheduled to sit at another table, had not shown up, so that we were now forced to eat their poriton of food. \r \r At 9:40 p.m., 2 of us got up and informed the others that we were leaving because it was already very late. I, for one, had worked all day, while the other is 80 years old and needed to get to bed. \r \r The food is AVERAGE. The food is literally UNEVENTFUL. However, the mediocre food is overshadowed by the HORRIBLE service and inocuous attitude of its untrained staff. If you have money to throw away on a restaurant that is truly not worth visiting, then the Phoenicia is the restaurant you are looking for. Based on the other reviews on this site, only 1 person seems to have found the place worth patronizing. I recommend almost any other place but the Phoenicia. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. They have the worse customer service. They are always short staff when you ask the waiter for something they take 30 min to get it from the kitchen, or they say they just ran out. Specially the owner. He had promised us a table for 45 people what we had reserved a week and half ago. last minute he changed our siting location about 3 times. Without apologizing he told us if we don't like the siting that we were welcome to go any where else. What kind of a restaurant owner is that. So I would never step foot in that restaurant ever again. more

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE,OWNER HORRIBLE CHEAP MAN\r After hearing bad reviews from 3 of my friends about this place i decided to give it a try for myself. i actually liked the food and placed a few phone orders with them thereafter. my latest experience is for sure the LAST with them. unfortunately the owner is cheap and prideful. After personally taking my order and skrewing up up on it, he refused to apologize once. making me feel like i just want something for free. i come from a family who owns several restaurants and caters to californias political parties,i know a thing or two about customer service. I originally placed a 25.00 order and when i picked it up they said it was over 70.00 i knew there was a misunderstanding. so apparently the owner understood me wrong and i was left with the bill. after i made it known i didnt order that much food, they refused to do anything about it which i was soo surprised. so i thought to myself instead of arguing this, ill pay for it and have food for the rest of the week. when i get home i noticed im missing at least 4 dishes! i was so upset! i thought wrong about that food lasting a while,it was just enough for that day. bringing all of this to the attention of the owner, he did not once say im sorry. after nicely telling him how disappointed i was he finally gave me a discount for my next order.but it took a while to get anything out of this prideful man with no customer service skills. Skrew the discount all i wanted was a sincere apology for the mix up and perhaps offer to give me the food i paid for that they left out. If you go to this restaurant, and something goes wrong with your order,dont expect any compensation. Even all the waiters working there felt soo bad for me and totally understood. this place lost my business to Carousel. from now on thats where ill be and hope you will too. This restuarant is really good. We went here with a group of friends and had a really good time. As we are not all Armenians, we all enjoyed the Armanian food. The entertainment was not bad and the service was really good. We did the full menue and price was good. I will highly recommend this place to everyone. We all had a great time.. you will enjoyy it!
