Philly Style Steaks & Subs

So let's be real here, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, all my homies on the Southside (and, if we're honest, the Peninsula, too--y'all ain't got no cheesesteak joints up there). Philly Style is not in a good part of town. No crime in saying it, though there's plenty of crime around it. Are you gonna get mugged going to get your cheesesteak on? I doubt it. Are a bunch of thugs gonna be getting some cheesesteaks with you? You bet--and that's the real South Philly experience, there. Remember, you're going here for very low-class food. This doesn't mean bad food, just what's eaten by the lower rungs on the socioeconomic ladder. It's the real deal, in the real environment, and it's busy. Know what you're gonna get, order up, and step to the left. If you're looking for suggestions, try this: whole cheesesteak, with onions, hot and sweet peppers. I'm from Philly and trust me, you won't find anyplace around here closer to the real thing. I've directed dozens of people to this place because it's the real deal. Even the memorabilia on the walls is fun to look at while waiting for your order. The employees are quick and efficient, but don't expect a lot of talk from them.
