Editorial review from Citysearch 11/25/2014

RE - Philadelphia Memorial Park, Malvern PA. As parents we had the sad and unfortunate job of burying two sons over the past 25 years. When our first son died at age 12, the representatives of Phila Memorial Park we very compassionate of our situation in finding a plot and having everything arranged for a funeral within 3 days of his death. More recently we buried our 34 year old son in the same set of plots. The service of all cemetery personnel was professional and compassionate for the second funeral too. Other cemeteries named Philadelphia Memorial may have problems but definitely not Malvern. Most recently they also buried my mother and that was perfect as well more

NO COOPERATION, NO INFORMATION 9/9/2009

I found out through some Genealogy research that my Great Grandparents and several of their family had been removed from the Old German Lutheren cemetery in Philadelphia and reintered at this place in a separate section of the cemetery. When I asked for information about the burial site I was directed to the section but there were no visable grave markers. After digging in the turf at some low places about four inches down I found brass plaques for some of the people buried there. I spent hours looking and digging for my Grandparents with no results. When I returned to the officce to seek more information I was told there was none. They said they did not know who was buried where in that section. Still dismayed and too late in the day to start again I asked for a copy of their interment records for my Genealogy references I was told that they were not permitted to give out that information!! I have been to many many cemeteries in search of family members burial records and NEVER before had any of them refuse to give me copies of records. I aksed to see a supervisor and was told that SHE WAS the supervisor. I happend to have a copy of a census that listed the family and asked her if she would just mark an X next to each person on the census that is also in their records and she refused so I said if I read you a name can you just nod YES or No and reluctantly she agreed. I believe this organization was provided federal funds to maintain this unique section of the cemetery and I intend to research that. Nowhere can I find a listing of the Board of Directors for this organization to formally complain. If any one has this information please respond to this web site. Cons: POOR ADMINISTRATION more

Philadelphia Memorial Park Inc is a Mess 8/18/2009

This cemetery used to be well maintained and beautiful. I believe it had been sold a few years ago. It seems like they don't care now. Branches down, that have been there for at least 6 months. Vines growing up and around the trees. Branches from trees touching the ground because they haven't been trimmed. It's an obstacle course getting to my loved ones graves. I am extremely unhappy. Even the one thing I thought was safe on the graves, the American Flag, has been taken. I've been coming to this cemetery regularly for 15 years and have never seen it like this. It's a disgrace! And the office is never open! I will be taking some kind of action. I do agree with the previous 2 posts. M.M. more

Philadelphia Memorial Park Inc is Classless 8/5/2009

Prepaid lot? No problem unless you happened to want to be buried on a Saturday. If this is the case, add 20% additional expense. $2500 for the lots, $585 for Saturday internment. These people are disgusting, high pressure sales to the grieving, nickle and dime you to death....oh, that's their business model! I would not be caught dead in this place. more

Terrible service 9/22/2005

You would think in this business sensitivity would be needed. Obviously this company doesn't think so. They are rude and inconsiderate to say the least. I wouldn't bury a pet here. The staff is very abrasive. The rules are very strict as to what you can and cannot put on the grave as well as the memorial plaque itsself. It is difficult at best to find your way around this maze of a cemetary. more
