Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy

While the store contains great products and has a friendly staff, the pharmacy is HORRIBLE! In the two years I used the pharmacy for only two or three prescriptions, they lost faxed prescriptions numerous times, were incredibly rude and slow to fill even when I had called ahead. I switched and have been much happier. Last week I reluctantly had to use Pharmaca again for my cat's compounded prescription. The vet called it in before I knew who they would use. Although my cat was seriously ill and needed her medicine immediately they waited over 24 hours to make it. Then, when I went to pick it up, they were hostile and rude when I inquired when the doctor had called it in (I had assumed at first it was a mix up on that end) and why they hadn't contacted me when it was ready. It was clear that they only started making the compound when I called earlier that day to ask when it would be ready, but the woman gave me a lecture on how difficult it is to make compounded medicine. BS! I have worked in a compounding pharmacy and it only takes a few minutes. I just took my medicine and left but will never go back. If you can, I recommend that you use someone else. more

Pharmaca is what you'd get if you plucked the health and wellness aisles out of Whole Foods Market and made them into their own store. It's all-natural vitamins, supplements, bath and hygeine products, and wellness books. Oh yeah, and a full pharmacy in back. I think it's great! I have found, though, that prices on most items are a little higher than the other stores in the area that sell similar items (Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Vitamin Cottage). more
