The owner, Laura, is a real hag. Attitude + homely + sloppy looking = not a good combo. She yelled at me over advice my licensed veterinarian gave me, he said cooked meat, she screams raw. She does NOT (though she seems to think otherwise) have DVM after her name. Also saw a really hot headed therapist kick a dog and chew out the dog's owner. They do carry a great selection of top-quality food, but they need to be exposed for mistreatment of dogs. That therapist should have been fired on the spot, PERIOD. Seen it more than once. more

RUN AWAY QUICK!!! 1/21/2012

I used to go to PetsWest a lot, BUT the training is rough, mean, and cruel to the dogs. For example, they believe that putting a prong collar on a dog and then lifting it up in the air by the neck (cutting off the dogs air way) is a proper training method. The classes are also over crowded. The owner is a total jerk, he was very disrespectful and confrontational to another customer. I've never met a more ignorant man in my life.They don't even deserve the one star that I'm giving them. If you bring your dogs here, RUN, DON'T WALK, away!!! Find a positive trainer who actually knows how to train dogs!! more

Great Place 11/17/2010

I have been frequenting Pets West for classes, supplies and food for almost 4 years. These people are great and very knowlegable. You can't please everyone and some people are just bent on finding fault, that's what I feel about the complainers. Laura is great in the show classes, as well as the other teachers. She is nationally known and respected and has NEVER been rude to anyone that I saw (other than asking an aggressive, biting dog and handler to leave). more
