Peter Kay Auto Sales

Had 2 family members purchase vehicles and the extended warranty from Peter Kay back in Sept 2013. to date neither one has an active extended warranty account. the money we paid and our information was never forwarded to the warranty company. Owner Andy, is giving us the runaround and still has not turned in our paperwork or money for the warranty plan. Warranty company says its not their problem, we must deal with Peter Kay......I feel a lawsuit coming!!!!! definitely do not recommend Peter Kay. Total rip off artists!!!!!! more

I bought my 2007 Dodge Durango from Peter Kay Auto Sales about 3 moths ago. I had 2 small issues with the vehicle about 2 months ago after purchase. They repaired both, and didn't charge me! I am very pleased with my overall experience, and plan on buying a vehicle for my wife in the coming months. more

Would not recommend at all. Spent $11.5K on truck with numerous issues. Truck was delivered with no coolant...wow thats a great sign! Luckily I noticed before we left... unfortunately we had paid already. Noise in front end and brakes were supposed to be checked and fixed before delivery, they were not. So then I had to complain about it again and also noticed the cd player did not work and a leaking oil cooler and a leaking transmission. I then had to take the truck to the other location to be fixed. They did fix the oil cooler and replaced 1 suspension part and told me they fixed the cd player and that the wheel bearing noise was just the tires. However the front end still makes a racket, the cd player does not work, the wheel bearing noise continues to get louder and i noticed the coolant reservoir is spitting coolant out of the top meaning probably a bad head gasket and now has a exhaust leak. You'd think for over $11K at least your radio would work. Given all the issues we decided to waste more money on the extended warranty..its been 2 months and i still dont have anything from the extended warranty company. \r \r MEH, it would have been cheaper and less stressful to buy something more expensive from a real dealership. It takes me alot to do a bad review for a company but this is quite deserved and I feel the need to warn others.\r \r But really, as with most small used car dealerships, all you are buying is a used car that came from a automobile auction (probably adessa) that a larger dealership decided not to sell and send to the auction for one reason or another (and its probably because it was a turd), Then a smaller dealership's owner goes to the auction, wins the vehicle at or below wholesale price, marks the price way up and then sells it on their lot like its some great vehicle. Sadly, most do nothing to the vehicle unless absolutly necessary and the buyer is left to pick up the pieces. more

I purchased a 2004 mazda 3 from peter kays. I went there and paid CASH for this piece of junk. I was told they Back there cars and it was a great ""quick little gas saver"" that was in mint condition. Two weeks after I got it i started having problems. A few days after the one month lease was up the transmission blew. so I had to buy a brand new transmission. A couple of months after that I had to fix it again "" ignition system failure"". Then a mass air flow censor, brakes, and now the most recent air conditioning compresser. Needless to say Ive spent 14000 dollars on this piece of crap that ive had for a year. They also told me they got the car inspected and the tint that was on the car was legal. I got a ticket the first week for the tint being to dark And then had to pay to go get it removed. Peter kay's are a bunch of liars and crook's. If you value your money and want a good safe reliable car I suggest you take your business elsewhere. more

I recently bought a 2007 Chevy Cobalt for my daughter at college. It was in better condition and less expensive than any my daughter had found online. She should have gone there in the first place like i told her to do! Our family has bought several vehicles over the last fifteen years. Have allways been satisfied. more

My minivan got totaled and I needed to replace it quickly and with out having to spend more than the insurance company was giving me. Andy and Adin worked quickly to find me the exact van I wanted, at the price I wanted to pay. I took it to my mechanic before purchasing it and it checked out great. I will be going back to Peter Kay the next time I need a vehicle and I would recommend them to my family and friends. more

One of the WORST places to go for a car. The customer service was barely a notch below average and their used cars are usually lemons but of course they won't tell you that. We bought one and just after three months we had to replace the brakes, shocks and struts, and the engine!! They wouldn't even cover it. They must have spray painted the bottom of the car because rust started coming through 2 weeks after we bought the car. Shamsters!!! They won't return your calls once they get your money. $4,000 in additional repairs after we paid $8,000. Liars and cheats! Cons: Lemon vehicles that need additional repairs. more

I bought a car from Peter Kay and now it is costing me an arm and a leg to get fixed. The radio doesn't work, the suspenion has issues and the starter is already going out , all after only 2 months!!! When I bought the car they said they'd fix all the problems. I took it back twice and they refused to fix it!! These guys are shamsters and they do not keep their word. If you must buy a car from them, please have it throughly checked out by someone else and don't take it possession until every item is fixed and you verify it. They will not keep their word, and they are very dishonest in my opinion. I learned the hard way by not looking at other's review. Don't make the same mistake I did. Cons: Dishonest and liars more

I highly recommend that you purchase a vehicle any place else but here!! Based on my experience these people are not interested in anything but selling cars. I bought a vehicle from them and once I got off the lot, there were too many problems to list. They told me to just bring it back and they would fix everything and they kept it for two weeks and only fixed 2 things. The transmission was bad and the brake calipers were frozen. Supposedly they checked the car out, but missed those (go figure). They could never give me a straight answer and refused to fix the rest of the problems. If you must purchase from them, I highly recommend you have the vehicle checked out before you make your purchase. If you wait, it will be too late. i went in to peter kay to finance a car i put down my deposite and was told i can pick the car up on tuesday . well tuesday comes and goes and they finally say i was never financed and try get me to finance another care i said i would take a look. well they said it would take a few days for him to bring the car to the tonawanda location that was two weeks ago and i finally called for my deposit back the woman on the phone was RUDE !!!!! i asked for my seposite back and she said i needed to speak to joe first to aoopve this refund i asked whey then she said that i needed to speak to him to get my credit card info ""why i said"" i have uit right here again i was screamed at and said what dont you understand just talk to joe or we wont give you anything ...i took thias up with the bank never again will i attempt to do any kind of busniess with them this is a horriable company and should be ashamed !!!they are con artists Pros: none ! more

I LEFT A $700 DEPOSIT ON A CAR. I WENT TO ACCEPT DELIVERY. THE CAR WAS DISGUSTING. THE OLD MECHANIC WOULD NOT TALK TO ME. THE POOR SALESMAN WAS BELITTLED BY THE OWNER FOR NOT DETAILING THE CAR. THE OWNER MAKES A COUPLE OF YOUNG MEN RUN HIS PATHETIC DEALERSHIP WHILE HE STOPS IN AND COLLECTS THE MONEY. THEY HAVE SOME SHADY CHARACTERS INVOLVED WITH THAT PLACE! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HEADACHE AND A CHEAP CAR THAT MAY LOOK NICE BUT IS VERY POOR MECHANICALLY, AND WILL HAVE NOTHING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, GO THERE! My friend told me about this site and that some one wrote some bad things about Peter Kays. I bought a 2003 monte ss and love it..cheaper and cleaner than any one i have seen ..................I all so bought a car for my son ,,, it has been good to him for being a $4,500 car ... Would buy another car when the time is right. P.S. I read the first one about the Hyundai just to say, you cant make every one happy , i would hate to be married to that one............ We bought a used Hyundai Elantra from Peter Kay last month and have been VERY unhappy. When we test drove it, it needed new brakes and the exhaust was loud. We were assured that these things would be fixed - that it had been sitting on a lot (reason for the bad brakes) and it would be fixed. We told them to take a week - we would rather wait than rush them getting it ready. When I went to pick it up, it wasn't done and we had to wait another day. A couple weeks later, my husband drove on a long trip and it broke down outside of Cleveland on a busy interstate. It was the brakes and the mechanic who fixed it said we could've been badly hurt. They had done a rushed job with VERY poor workmanship. Needless to say, they weren't happy that they couldn't fix it here and wouldn't pay $125 of the repair saying they didn't authorize work on some part of the brakes. Meanwhile, my husband lost pay for sitting around for a day and had to pay for a hotel and food out of pocket. We no sooner got it back then, you guessed it, the exhaust started making noise. They did fix that grudgingly because we said that it had been bad to begin with. After working on the car and blaming the Ohio repair shop, my brakes still squeal ! Just over a month after we bought it it broke down AGAIN on a busy interstate - this time a bad battery. They will claim it isn't covered under the warranty. We've had to have 2 expensive tows and lost time, money, and peace of mind. The bottom line is that all they care about is selling the car. They don't care about the condition or safety of the car or customer satisfaction. STAY AWAY from Peter Kay !!! I purchased a Cadillac Seville STS 04' from Peter Kays in February and simply love it. Its loaded and appears brand new, the owner of Peter Kays informed me he purchased it from Florida where he goes to get the real creampuffs .The car was buffed , polished and pristine when I picked it up and it draws looks from everyone whereever I go. more

i feel this dealership is in need of some help... their service is poor i bought a car that took an extra week to recieve which i figured was ok but they all ready had it for a week before then .... also i needed it by a certain date they guaranteed it by then no problem i was like perfect .. and no need to say i didnt get it go figure. then the day i go to pick it up from there GREAT service , i drive it off the lot and what do i findout ... it needs work. not what they fixed on it but s/t else that is impossible to miss. so......call them up tell them whats up with it. they tell me i have to pay for it . awesome i already spent enough on it and now more work . the real kicker is after i tell them about the car ...... they tell me about warrenties perfect i love it . i really dont appriciate there service at this point and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE Pros: the car is still running ,i met one nice person Cons: car was dirty and had an empty tank when i got it not good service more
